Was introduced to vaping by a friend a couple of years ago, was able to try his out - and enjoyed it.
A few months ago I decided to try it and bought Blu-cigs. It was a decent experience but the carts didn't last long and often got a burnt taste or no taste and the batteries lasted like 20mins.
So, i found this place and based on reading for awhile have since bought the following equipment and juices.
These are my reviews of what I have used so far.
Thing to note = I haven't had a cigarette in ~5 years but always vowed i would be back if they ever invented the "cancer-free" cigarette. And it seems like E-Cigs are close enough. I am a light vaper, maybe 30 mins a day with a couple of 2 hour sessions thrown in once a week.
What I've bought and my short reviews, hopefully this might help someone out.
Kit:
2 Automatic 78mm Batteries from Volt = 5 Stars!!! These things are great, love the automatic, good battery life and like that it's similar to smoking an analog.
1 Manual X2 1300mah battery from Volt = 4 stars!! Nice thing to have, battery seems to last forever - but still prefer the automatic ones do to the similarity of smoking.
Carts -
I bought 2 nanomizers from SmokeLess image, they were GREAT the first fill... but were worthless on the second fill, they lost most of their taste and the taste from the first fill is what lingered ... but it was still mostly tasteless. Personally, I don't recommend.
I bought 10 Blanks from Halo, so far so good, no complaints - seem like decent cartomizers.
Juices - This is where I feel that i don't understand either people's taste, preference, or idea of quality, seriously I don't get it...
Hopefully i don't offend anyone, this is just a personal review...
Blu Cigs -
Tobacco - decent taste while it lasted,
Menthol, decent taste while it lasted,
Cherry - okay taste while it lasted,
Vanilla (ewwww non-vapable for me)
Smokeless Image -
Tobacco Sampler - I hated them all, they had this weird cardboard smell and taste, none of them resembled tobacco and none of them tasted any good in their own right. I ended up throwing them all away, i consider them non-vapable.
So I read on this forum that Halo has some good juices, so I ordered a Sampler from them and filled 5 Halo Blanks.
I ordered the 6mg Nicotine juices - because 18 is too much for me and I don't need much nicotine.
Torque - It's a light mist, it's perfumey and no throat hit what so ever, like vaping air - Non-Vapable in my opinion
Menthol Ice - Light, a slight taste of menthol but also has undertones of what tastes like chlorine. Also no throat hit what-so-ever. Non-vapable.
Tribeca - It's also light, has no throat hit, has that taste of cardboard I found in SI's juices (which apparently is their tobacco flavor) - non-vapable
Capt Jack - Light, no throat his, also tastes a bit like perfume
Midnight Apple - Light, no throat hit, has an apple taste... but also has a perfume taste... non-vapable.
Maybe it's just the 6mg Nictotine level - but they were all like vaping bad air... either perfumey or cardboardy...
Where does that leave me? I have a couple I like.
After having not much luck with the juices i've tried/wasted-money-on i asked my friend whose ecig i tried 2 years ago what he vapes? He said Menthol from V2 cigs.
I ordered up some V2 cigs menthol.. and it' pretty darn good! In the beginning it tastes a bit like mint gum, but that overowering taste fades and it's just a nice menthol/minty taste with a great throat hit (Even at low nictonine levels)
I would give it 4 out of 5 stars, where as the Blu-cigs get mainly 2 or 3s all SI and Halos get 1.
Because i kind of liked Blu Cigs, I ordered up a sampler of Johnson Creek Juices (unfortunately u can only get 18mg in the samplers which is way too much for me, but i can still vape a bit at a time).
Domestic - Good, actually tastes good, it seems like a quality juice, actually kind of resembles a tobacco taste and has a nice taste in it's own right, great throat hit.
Marcado - Supposed to be their Clove flavor, back in the day i loved Djarum Cloves!! However, this tasted much more like a cinnamon juice with hints of clove. Plenty of people probably will really like this juice, I can tell it's quality and i kind of liked it, but it's just not for me.
Tennessee Cured- A tobacco flavor with hints of Caramel, decent juice - tastes good, i can vape this.
Their Menthol (mountain mist?) - Okay, not nearly as good as V2's menthol - but definetley vapable.
I tried their Chocolate as well, but wasn't for me, but it's still vapable.
So.. I think V2s Menthol will be pretty much the Juice I Vape 90% of the time.
I still would like a tobacco flavored juice... JC's Domestic might be the one, but I'm going to try out their PG flavors first to see if I can find another Juice I really like.
Bottom line on Juices... If there are any other newbs out there that think that SI and Halos juices are gross and not vapable.. I would suggest Menthol from V2 and i would suggest getting a Sampler from Johnson Creek, because their juices actually smell and taste like a quality product, you may not like some of the tastes like i didn't... but their juice was night and day in terms of quality compared to what I tried from Halo and SI which i found to be non-vapable and wasted Good Carts on...
Anyway, that's my personal review of what I've found over the last 2 months... apparently my tastes don't jive with alot of others and if you're like me... you might like what i've liked.
I'm sticking with Menthol from V2 and after i've waited awhile (Since i spent quite a bit of money on these samplers and carts) i might try the PG sampler from JC and see if i can find another Juice I can vape.
