Can anyone please give an opinion about this?

I bought McCormick Raspberry extract.

contents on label are: water, propylene Glycol, alcohol (20%), extractives of raspberry, FD&C Red 40 and Natural Flavors

Would this be safe to mix with an eliquid adding some USP Glycerin to dilute the juice a bit?

I admit without asking anyone I already mixed it and vaped and used about 4 DROPS of extract and 6 drops of Glycerine TO a 0.5 ML ejuice in the cartridge.

Can anyone tell me if this can damage hardware or me?

You CAN get some Lorann's flavorings usually at a Michaels or Hobby Lobby...or a bake shop, possibly...and that would be safer. We have a DIY Liquids thread here you should check out. Even with the Lorann's flavorings, there are a few (oil-based ones) that you should avoid. But it'll get you something to vape until you order some flavorings. Just a thought. The Lorann's flavorings will be much more concentrated than extracts, too. Good luck.

This is what I'll do then. Got a Hobby less than a mile away. I'll try that. Thanks for all the kind answers!

LOL Katiecat. Jeeze.

It is probably fine, but everyone reacts differently to flavoring chemicals and coloring.

Most liquids and flavorings have some artificial coloring in it, some more than others (how dark of a red is it?). I'm not too keen on vaping anything with heavy food coloring (why would you want to??). LorAnn's flavorings have coloring in it as well... but you'll use less.

You should do some homework and decide for yourself if you want to exclude any of the coloring additives (and maybe skin test yourself with flavorings before vaping them). This page is an eye opener about artificial coloring What is Food Coloring Made Of?

Red 40 has lots of articles written about it. FD&C Red Dye #40 Information, Education and Discussion (also info. on other dye colors and the possibility of allergies to the colorings).

Not a great thing to vape 24/7 but to vape a mix or two once in a while should be ok. If you find you have concerns with it, there are several companies that have all natural liquids and flavorings such as Juicy JuicePaks : JuicyLiquid.com, DIY E-Liquid and Accessories!

This is great info. The reason I did this was that the eliquid I ordered was drying mouth and throat very dry. So I tried to dilute it a little with glycerine and got the extract to try to add to the diluted flavor.

I think I can save me some money also if I do that. Not much money to go around.

Hellen, :?:do you mean I have to read now? :blush:But I will then. Thanks for the links

I don't think I would use any flavoring that contains alcohol in it...that's flammable, dude. The liquid is heated when you vape. I'd be scared to death I would spontaneously combust if I used that! o_O

Be careful! I know vanilla extract is highly flammable, so I'm just guessing others are as well.

It'll probably kill you......40 years after the analogs would have.
