I have seen a rash of battery returns in the last month from my customers. First of all I apologize for the inconvienence of those returns and have tried to get replacements out as fast as I can. I have notified my supplier asking why this has been happening and how it is effecting me. Up until today I was loosing hope of getting a fix on this situation.
I recieved this email from my supplier today
"
Dear Katy,
How are you?
I am really very sorry for the battery problem.
We know that problem because we also get complaints from other clients. The battery problem is just because that our engineer used a new switch inside the battery which they believe will work better. But finally it works very worse. So now we stop that switch and use a new one. The battery problem will be less and less. I am so sorry for this dear Katy.
Please don't lose your courage.

This problem just appears in the last month. Now we have adjusted everything. We are so sorry for all the inconvience we brought to you. Please kindly explain everything to your users.
Also please mail back those bad batteries, we will change all new ones for you.
We will focus on the solution to every quality problems. We wish you good understanding.
best regards,"

Trog mentioned this switch change when it happened a month ago and now we know it was a bust. Hopefully the situation will improve in the future.

Again thanks to all my customers for your patience and understanding.

Katy your service is impeccable! It is to bad that the technology causes distributor distress - I know as one of your customers that you have ALWAYS made things right and have a great amount of integrity in your business practices - If anyone says different - Send them my way - I let them know how GREAT of a supplier you are. 5 - Stars

PS I hope you are feeling better.

the ones i mentioned are the DSE 901 type not the RN type.. the small numbers on the end tell u which is which..

i did mention it awhile back but like most boring tech things it got pretty much ignored.. he he

said to be over sensitive and cut off after three seconds..

a pic of some cut up ones.. the new type switch is the little black disc..

i can say they are very very sensitive but have not actually tried using them for real..

I've just got a few of these new style batteries for the DSE901 and the DSE801 (batteries marked "SLB" on the brass connector - indicating they are made by Sailebao). So they are about in both 901 and pen style types.

I don't mind them too much but they are different from the ones with vacuum switches and require a slightly different technique. Sensitive is not the word - a gnat farting in their general direction will set them off!! Blowing through them will also activate them unlike the old style.

Best way I've found of using them is to slightly "modulate" the draw, so instead of a constant draw try to vary the air flow. So start off drawing slowly, gradually increase, then ease off, then increase again.. It works. But takes a bit of getting used to.

Using them as you would with the other type will mean they cut off very quickly.

This is just a tip for anyone who has one and does not want to or can't swap them for the other type, for whatever reason.

Wow. Since Katy posted this, I tested my spare battery I had received from the fabulous starter kit. After charging, it just remained lit! I emailed her, and a new one arrived today (Monday). I checked my email and she told me she was hoping to get to the PO on Tuesday.

I guess thesmokelessshop has a time machine!

Thank you for your integrity and magical shipping methods.... ;D
