At 2 monthes I started making my own coils. By 6 months I was making my own juice. I dont worry about nothing now and the cost is less than a dollar a day. This let me focus on my mg strength and getting off the stinkys for good. When I first started I needed 36mg, now 5 years later its 10mg. vaping is a God send, period.

You mentioned that you're using a pod system. If you use the juul or any other system that's not a refillable one, you will be getting ripped off and then I can understand why you are trying to make the fill in your pod last. But if you have a system that's refillable, a 100ml bottle for a pod should last a while and you won't be having to conserve on juice like you are doing now. 100ml amounts to 50 juul pods of e-liquid. You can get great deals online for bottles too.

As I have said before, when I get anxious about the spending, I look at my signature banner and the stress goes away. I have save over 20k by not smoking and there is no way I have spent that much even with all the stuff I bought and tried.

OP, you might want to change setups as others suggested. Pods are not the cheapest way to go. If you don't want to build coils, you can get an ego one atomizer with some clr coils. Coil lasts a long time with just changing the wick which is easy. They also don't cost any more than other coils so if you don't want to rebuild them eveery few months, just buy another pack of coils for appro. 9 bucks. I have been using the same coil in mine for several weeks with just rewicking.

Reading some of the replies, I'm thinking the issue might be that since I'm completely fine with vaping now, maybe it's time to graduate to something better than pre-filled pods.

    I'm ready to learn.

If you want to stick with a pod system due to the size, you may like checking into the VLADDIN RE refillable pod system.

There is also the very small GeekVape Flint that is getting lots of love...

There are several options without giving up some of the convenience of a pod system and it opens you up to more juices and flavors than you have now..

I went through that stage when I first started, too. Penny pinching ( shush up, all y’all who know me now!)

I diy and make my own coils now, so vaping could cost me next to nothing, about half the cost of a pack of smokes per month, when I used to smoke 1.5 or more a day.

    Could.

Instead, I’ve *invested* about 20% of what I’d have spent smoking on gear and supplies.

I guess I’ve traded one obsession for another, albeit opposite of how you’ve done.

    But hey, whatever works.

When I first joined ECF, there were folks complaining about the cost of cartomizers and nic juices. Asking "Where can I find the cheapest this or that." I went from spending $360 a month on cigs to maybe $50 or $60 a month on vaping. I was saving $300 a month, and some people were acting like they were scraping pennies together just to afford vaping. Washing out and reusing cartos and stuff like that. Never understood why.

These days I buy all my juices from 2 vendors, Freedom Smoke USA and Backwoods Blends. I save some bucks by buying enough quantity to last from one of their holiday sales to the next. I've noticed they stick mostly to the major holidays and black Friday and Cyber Mondays. No more Valentines Day or St. Patrick's Day or Presidents Day sales.

When I was using cigarettes, I thought nothing of smoking as much as I want. Running low? No problem, just go to the nearest store, drop $18 for another three packs and keep going.

Now that I've gone the healthy alternative route, I feel like I've turned somewhat ....-retentive; always computing costs (never cared when it was tobacco), limiting how much I vape (never cared when it was tobacco), making sure I could get my supplies (never cared when it was tobacco -- and the product is easier to get than tobacco). In short, driving myself nuts. As I type this I have my pen in sight, desperately wanting a draw and thinking "tsk, tsk, this pod has to last you until Saturday" (never cared when it was tobacco -- and it's not true, I can use it up tonight if I want, I have stocked up!)

I hope I get over this vaping OCD or I may end up on Dr. Phil.

Or Steve Wilkos: "Your Vaping Is Ruining Our Life!!"

Give it a while. One of the great things about vaping is you lose dependence on it after a while and you won't care if you have to do without it. I was always acutely aware of how many cigarettes I had left or if I left home without them. When I switched to vaping, I was afraid of running out of batteries or juice, etc. Now if I forget my vape, I'm ok because I'm not addicted to it.

If you're looking for "the next step" ("beyond Juul"), I can recommend the Smok Nord - it's got a refillable tank and coils are replaced with a click (nothing to learn 'though..)
