I'm still puffing on a $8 Clayton I picked up on a whim when I went to get smokes last Friday. Liked it well enough so I bought a $8 pack of cartos and some Crown Seven juice to refill. Ordered a V2 kit before I found this site- it hasn't arrived yet-probably a couple more days. But the juices I ordered from Mom and Pop Vapor Shop should be here tomorrow!

I'm already looking to upgrade 'cuz I finally have hope that I can give up smoking! I've smoked less than 2 packs in the past week, and that was only due to a dead battery, much better than 1+PAD.

What I want-

1. Easy. I don't want to tinker with anything. I don't mind refilling cartomizers, but some of the other stuff you all talk about makes my head hurt!

2. Cheap, like under $60 for a couple of decent batteries, charger, and 10-15 cartos.

3. Smallish- I really don't want to deal with anything cigar sized, cigarillo sized would be OK.

4. Doesn't look like a "suspicious" smoking device.

5. I'm not sure yet, but I think I'll prefer automatic over manual.

Would the Egos fit the bill? The twist looks cool, and I kinda like the colors on the K and Q.

Other suggestions for simplicity of use? Suggestions for reputable vendors?

The ego twist seems like a good enough start. I have no experience with it (I went from blu disposables to blu rechargables, to the ego vv, which is a step up from the twist, but also a little bigger.) I use a dual coil cartomizer and a tank, and that works terrifically for me. I would just stay away from the ecigs that try to emulate real cigs.

Sorry, forgot to answer that question. Blu was reputable, but crap. I ordered my ego vv from apollo. They have a comparison chart in the ego vv's description to the ego twist, if you are interested, but they don't sell the twist.

Just remember that for every 100mah the battery has, that's about an hour of vaping. If you are looking for a smaller battery, you may want to consider something with a passthrough.

Dude get a VAMO or an ego Twist! No mod or Ecig will be too difficult after a few days (and this is coming from a a guy who grew up with all women and can barely check his oil!). Check out videos by GrimmGreen and Pbusardo on Youtube! It will turn from super confusing to simple procedures in a week or two. I just quit 2 weeks ago with my Provari, but i started big because a friend got me into it and i knew id be hooked. Plus any money you spend will be made up tenfold by quitting analogs (traditional tobacco cigarettes) No bad breath, reduced harm to your health at the very least, financial savings for sure, and just a genuine sense of pride. Welcome to the forums as i am new as well brother! Vape On!

Started on cig-a-likes for a day and then found this forum. Many recommended the Joye eGo Twist for us newbies and for me it has been amazingly simple. Got the Kanger T3 Clearomizer to go with it. Major improvement over the cig-a-likes. The variable voltage (VV) of the Twist allows you to dial in for flavor and throat hit.

I started with Blu then upgraded to a KGO a week later. Now I'm looking to get an iTaste SVD.

I originally wanted the stealth of the cig-a-like, but realized that they had nowhere near the power of an eGo type battery. I'm now use to the larger size, and for the first time at the bar last night, I saw two other people vaping fat batts.

If there is an e-cig store near where you live, I would suggest going there and trying different setups. I wish I had done that before dropping $100 on the Blu.

Rule of Thumb: generally, the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

This is especially true if you are a 1+ PAD smoker. So if you are serious about quitting, then I would suggest you place performance above appearance.

The smallest I would recommend (for a 1+ PAD smoker) is a Kgo (better batteries than the eGo). But a good variable watt model such as the Vamo would be even better.

I'd suggest looking at something like the Panda Evolve as it has a good battery and juice capacity, I'd consider function and ease of use above all as the pretty bits won't compensate for the frustration of a short battery life or endless refills.
I have not used one but it has been getting good reviews and is of the latest generation of PV so worthy of consideration.

The page linked below has a Youtube review by PBasardo who I believe to be the best reviewers out there...
Panda Evolve Starter Kit

If you are serious about replacing your pack a day with a much healthier option then I suggest the Vamo with Vivi Nova tank or the Innokin SVD kit, I've had 2 Vamos and both suffered with thread wear on the connection, the SVD is a little more complex as it has more buttons to perform the same functions but has far superior build quality and looks. None of the VV VW devices are that complex and you will have mastered them within a day or 2, the Innokin SVD kit comes with 2 iClear 30's and is a very solid performer.

Most often these things are decided buy budget but very often I've heard people say they wish they had committed the funds in the beginning and got the higher capacity kit.

Perhaps this thread will help you decide and avoid some of the bad choices made.

I agree - I had the same mindset where I wanted something that looked and felt like an analog but once I moved up to a bigger battery I would never go back! Difference is night and day.

Good luck!

I would not consider a 230 mAh battery (Panda) "good battery life", especially for a 1+ PAD smoker. 100 mAh = 45min - one hour of vaping on average. It might work for a light vaper but not how most of us vape.

Everyone is different. I was a 3 pad 43 year smoker and also thought cig-sized and automatic. I started with Volts from Smokeless Image, ordered 1 auto and 1 manual with cartomizers...the manual was much better for me. I used only the cig-sized for about 2 months, then ordered a little larger X2 (which is ego size). I use the Volt for out and about but use the larger one at home. That's still what I use after 9 months, and I have not had any need to change, although I have experimented with different clearomizers. Today I would probably recommend something with a 510 connection (SI products are 808s).

Frankly, my biggest challenge was finding the juices I liked. That quest took me several months, and several battles with my taste buds. I went through many vendors and 50+ samples before I and my buds settled.

what Bman1959 says

here is a nice kit - EGO-C Twist 1000MAh and clearomizer Kit - $78.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

has the vision clearos (top coil - warmer vape - needs to be twirled to keep wicks wet) instead of the kanger (bottom coil (I think)- cooler vape - no twirl needed)

I do have Vamo that I really like. Bought the "kit" version from smoktek with extra batteries and got the AGA-T2 from a different site and had to order wire and stainless from ebay - put it all together and took it to work - got pulled into the bosses office because someone said I had a "mini m**h lab" looking thing on my desk - showed it to him and now he is ordering one  because he likes the VW (didn't know he was a vapor (he only vapes at home)) and now he wants to by some kanthal off of me

- a Twist is pretty much the perfect choice for you. Great job researching.
- i dont recommend cartos, seeing that you are a 1+PAD smoker and like things simple. Cartos can be troubling to fill, and dont hold that much juice for its size. What i would recommend is a Kanger eVod (not T3 or MT3 as those have some quality control issues). It is cheap, durable, and literally a no brainer, fill-up-and-go type device. Also it looks clean on your eGo Twist as it is made specifically for eGo type batteries.

A tank carto avoids the concerns you mentioned. I use a 5ml tank carto and never have to fill it until the end of the night. And the non-tank mega-cartos would go hours without needing topped off even when vaping heavily.
