Hey all, maybe an odd question to ask here, but I am going to anyway. :)

I have a V.2 that I bought about a year ago, give or take. My wife decided it was hers about 9 months ago, and I have been thinking about getting another one, or something else. Which leads me to my odd question.

At the time, the vamo was the hot ticket. Nothing close to it feature and quality wise for the price. I am wondering if there is a "new" vamo ecig that I would be better off buying? Not a actual vamo, but I am just wondering what the hot thing is right now. I figured since everything changes so fast, there might be a different ecig out there that offers a better bang for the buck now.

But maybe not, that is why I am asking. I am not a collector at all, heck I am still using a 2 year old altoid mod every day. So I don't want to buy a vamo just for the sake of having another vamo. I haven't had any problems with mine, beyond the random mode switches, button not working, etc. So I wouldn't have a problem picking up another, as long as it is still the best option right now in that sub-$75 or so price range.

Honestly if smart vapes still sold the altoid mod, I would probably grab another one of those instead. Since for me it offers the best battery life in the best form factor for what I need.

I have a Vamo 2 & it got really warm so I stopped using it. However, I did get it from FastTech so who knows but it felt very cheaply made. I watched Grimm Greens video for the Smok Tech SID and he called it the Vamo killer. I did a little more research and decided to get one. I have to say I love it. You can get one around 45 bucks & I must say to me it blows the Vamo away. It has a nice sturdy build quality. It comes in a nice variety of colors. It only has one button that operates the menu & the firing but you get the hang of it quickly. Personally I would have paid double the price that is how much I love it. Good luck in whatever you choose but definitely check out the SID.

I am going to attempt to post the link to GrimmGreen's review of it right here for you but I have never done that before so I hope it works.

I have not read good things about the SID. I have to wonder if Cindy got ahold of one of the Vamos that did not have the proper spring which caused overheating. I have not heard of a Vamo overheating since the initial spring was switched out to the gold one.

I don't have the SID, but I do have the Smok Zmax, and it's a pretty solid, relatively inexpensive mod.

Greetings; Your Vamo got really warm, or out-and-out hot?

Sometimes my clearomizer feels warmer than usual around the base, and the heat spreads to the top of my Vamo.

There are shut-off safety features on the Vamo (and most if not all other regulated mods AFAIK), though I can understand that the existence of these features probably doesn't mean a lot if you believe your mod is overheating.

Did you get a chance to check out whether the same batteries operate on another mod without the same heat build-up?

However, I did get it from FastTech so who knows but it felt very cheaply made

I've heard it said that there are counterfeit Vamos out there, but never heard that said about Fasttech. I believe my Vamo is a real Vamo, and it still feels cheaply made!
