I don't know scrap about Ekowool, so what do ya think would work the best in this case?

Ekowool Fabric?

Maybe the KT-11-TO with the 290 thread-count?

I couldn't say about that stuff. I get mine at Kidney Punchers and Stormy's Vapor cellar. It comes in hollow cords of 1, 1.5, 2 and 3mm.

I'm beginning to think that it doesn't matter what you wrap around the nickel foam. I'm using ecowool and have been vaping this foam for a day now so it should be broken in but the flavor is still not there. I use ecowool in my Penny and Diver and the flavor is great. I can even taste the sweet in my juice where I can't with silica. So I'm guessing the nickel foam is great for wicking and vapor but not so good with flavor. Just my 2 cents.

Just an addendum to post #33:
Almost one tank down and flavor getting better, juice still the same color as I started. Liking this stuff more & more, but the jury is still out as to whether this is better than the white ceramic. As soon as I finish this tank I'm going to do a rinse & dry-burn & try a different juice that I'm quite familiar with to do a side-by-side flavor test with a broken-in White wick in another RSST....should be interesting.

One caveat: how you roll this stuff into a wick will make all the difference in the world as to how well it works. I've been playing with a few excess pieces trying to wrap it different ways - When you roll it up, try to keep from compressing it to the point where you start breaking up the internal foam structure. Start with a solid crimp along one edge (like when you fold over one edge of a stainless steel wick), and then lightly roll it in your fingers, trying not to crush it as you roll....or its wicking capabilities will suffer.
You will probably only be able to do about one & 1/2 rolls..or less for a 1/8 wick. This actually makes me think this thinner material might be better than the thicker stuff....or we might need a different technique for that. Don't know for certain - just throwing it out there.

Keep the feedback coming...& have fun!

yup the whole thing with this is that it's a good test run for titanium, that runs 30$ for a 2"x4" piece

That's 2 bucks for a 33mm x 10mm. A little pricey.

Believe we need to find out if the BD13 is as good all around and then find someone willing to cut the stuff, anybody?

i believe one source quoted me about half the price of mti but sidestepped my question as to purity. mti runs 99.99% pure .... and paying overseas shipping twice [china-uk-usa] might wipe out much of the savings

I seriously doubt it considering it would be Co-Op orders from members that have prior knowledge of the material's capability.

You'd have long-term (large) orders from every member..... :)

And freight wouldn't be that much, even if it were a couple kilos.

But the larger the order, the cheaper the price would get as each member splits the cost of freight.....so the price per unit drops.

Wouldn't even have to be the UK, could be a Canadian too.

First impressions on the foam wick. I rolled mine with the long end of a skinny allen wrench that comes with the AGI. I torched it a bit to oxidize it. Todd did it so....wth. I used 0.5 x 0.1 ribbon wire. Popped the first wrap..dang. Used the pulse method and slowly broke the wick in. 1.5 ohm wrap. I like this better than ceramic I can say that for sure. Nice vapor. No popping. I'm using this on my ac-9 since I can't sell it. It wicks surprisingly well. No dry hits, good flavor, and nice plumes of vapor. Here's a pic from my phone. I really need a new camera. I got lucky with no hotspots so far using an AGA T2 (used Petar K, 3/32 bit, 28g Kanthal 9 wraps at 1.6Ω) on a Vamo set to 15w (stacked 18350 batts). So far the flavor and vapor is comparable to the mesh/rope/rope with ekowool sleeve) combos I've tried.

I hope to try ekowool sleeving over the foam this weekend.

Sorry for the pic quality, I tried to get all the coils to touch (was hoping for microcoil performance).
