Hello everyone. As you can see this is my very first post... it's actually only about 24 hours after I learned that vaping was something that had such a strong community centered around it. Let me give you a (hopefully) brief introduction of myself and how I have arrived at this point. I smoked analogs for all of my adult life up until about two weeks ago. At this point I decided that enough was enough and I was really seriously going to quit (but that is an entirely different story). I got over the withdrawal without any major issues.... except for a constant, subconscious desire to want to go through the ritualized habit of smoking. So yesterday I went to my local smoke shop and asked what they had for electronic cigarettes. What they had was the Nicotek Metro which I bought along with the zero nicotine cartos. I instantly fell in love with the concept and have been absorbing as much info as I could ever since. I have a few questions that I haven't been able to find answers for on my own and I was hoping someone might be able to help.
First, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Nicotek Metro? Particularly I am curious about its compatibility with other parts (cartos) from other manufacturers. I have included a photo with the threads clearly visible. I will be getting some solid measurements tomorrow at work if anyone needs that data in order to help (I'm a quality inspector in a machine shop so I take measurements all day). For now I can say that the external thread has a major diameter of roughly .250" - .3125" (somewhere in between... metric perhaps).
Second, I am looking into purchasing e-liquid online and refilling myself as the prices for new cartos from my local smoke shop are pretty high in my opinion (9.99 for a 3-pack) and the Nicotek brand only sells traditional and menthol flavors. So far from some experimentation it seems like throat hit seems to be proportional to nicotine content (is this correct) though ideally I think I would like to try keeping to zero nicotine for the most part while still getting a good throat hit if this is at all possible... any suggestions?
Finally, on a somewhat related issue I am really looking at americaneliquidstore.com to make my purchase from as I am really impressed with what seems to be a top-notch quality system. Any thoughts/opinions/experiences on them as a brand/vendor? I can tell that they definitely aren't the cheapest, but I am willing to pay a bit more for a high quality product.
Ok, that's all I have. Many thanks in advance

I can't answer any questions about your supplier questions. But in regards to nicotine content of e liquid. Given the high level of relapse your chances of remaining cigarette free is.... well I think you know the answer. Its great that you have manged 2 weeks, but for vaping to be successful for you I would recommend e liquid with nicotine in it. Vaping is a healthy alternative, and your chances of remaining analog free will substaintially increase using nicotine e liquid.

I think at the very least, purchasing some lower level nic e juice is a good idea. I found 18mg was the perfect amount for me, but everyone is different. I am sure other people will post comments that are different, and you can make your mind up from there. Good luck :)

First of all, congratulations and welcome to ECF! I'm not familiar with the brand you have or what threading it is, but it *might be* a 510. If so that's the most common and easiest to get cartos, etc. for. As to e-liquids I'd suggest going with the vendors linked here on ECF, and there are a good many of them. ECF keeps a pretty close eye on the vendors who advertise and/or link here so by sticking with these sources you can shop with greater confidence. Another thought: if you don't want any nicotine you might wish to mix your own e-liquid. It's a relatively simple process and all that's required is some vegetable glycerin, some propylene glycol, and some condensed flavorings. These can be found online or perhaps locally. Online I'd suggest the One Stop DIY Shop DIY Flavors - One Stop DIY Shop Store but there are several others as well. Someone else should come along with a link for various e-juice vendors - I thought I had it but can't find it. I think you can find it in the main Forum index somewhere though. Good luck, & Happy Vaping!

The Metro is a RN 4081. Basically the same battery as the nJoy Pro. Battery can also interchange with a DSE 103
My local Wal Mart is selling the nJoy cartos about 18.95 for 5, not cheaper but an option in case you ever run out.

I usually get my cartos for my 4081 at The Better Way To Smoke - RN4081 Cartomizers. blanks and prefilled.
Vapor Kings sells some, good prohets and iVape.net has some also. all 3 of these sell blanks.

Aquavaper sells some 4081 prefilled, but never tryed them.

0 nic does lack in the TH department, but sometimes mints/mentols/cinnomon flavors can "fake the funk" so to speak.
Alien Visions 0mg Root Beer gave me a kick but my memory may not be working right, I have a bottle to see if it is right, just haven't gotten into it yet.
EDIT: OK, cracked that bottle open. Not much of a TH, but it is as tasty as I remembered. Mind you thats just tasty to ME, might not be to you.
