Consider getting a dog! You'll feel like a million bucks every time you come home and if you buy a puppy your cats will like it.

I would get a dog in a heartbeat except for 3 reasons: 1)The breed I want is Japanese Chin and they need walks...LOTS of walks, Kogi, my former dog, did a mile in the morning and a mile at night before he got too old, right now I can't walk a block without my left left failing. 2) litter boxes...we have five cats and six littler boxes...DOGGIE TOOTSIE ROLLS YUMMY!!!! 3) cat food in bowls everywhere.

Hubby has said we could work it out but I don't see how and who would walk the pup? K says he would but he leaves for work at 5am and gets home around 4pm so tired he can barely eat, and who would walk the dog when he is gone? I always say when I get better we will get a dog but for now it is a bad idea...*pets kitty near me*

I hear ya, the time isn't right for you and it's good you've thought about the needs of the animals!

In that case you'll have to pour all your love and attention onto your cats, at least they'll be very happy creatures :)

I still like fasttech .... great prices ..... great customer service (for a chinese company - no racist) .... the long waits I can deal with, as long as I can vent about it somewhere :)
FT are still winners for me, they cant help it if the HK post service has a dummy spit over batteries... love me FT!

Ashley, I don't know about my battery.
I was so frustrated by my stupidity that I just set it down.
The clearo was all in pieces and the mouth piece was all misshapen so I put it right in the bin.
The batt was hot to the touch..........and I don't use my dryer that hot so I figure that was not a good sign.
I will test it in a bit.
I am just glad my evod tanks are in HK or it may have been one of my new Spinners that I am saving for them.

Oh they are, all are spoiled rotten and I do love them so! They are like dogs in the respect that when I come home they all come running to see me. And they LOVE people. I have to warn all of my visitors that they will all come running to see them and they do. They are like "OH BOY!!!! CAT PARTY!!!!!!"

I'm with you brother. If you find out otherwise and want to stay in I'll go in with ya. No worries. I'm sure I've had worse gennys that I paid a lot more for.

Pat!!
was the battery in the dryer for a fair while?
if it was just bin it! not worth the risk, if the whole battery device was hot to the touch its dryed out the inside of the battery material, its now DANGEROUS to use, please DO NOT test it, just bin it!!

Megan, I so respect your thinking on getting a dog.
Lovely of you to put the animal first.
I haven't much experience w/ cats, but would sit with you for hours and learn about them.

Oh, and I'd love to see your pottery!! Really.

If you ever make it to CO you could see plenty!!

And I don't get optional pets ever. All of my pets have been forever pets. If I think there may be problems to start with I won't do it. But once I bring a baby home they are in their forever home!

Just looking out for you M'lady, the inside of batteries has a liquid in it, if that liquid dry's out there is nothing to 'cool' the chemical reaction of the battery it will heat up and possibly explode.. So glad yo have binned it my heart was racing Pat, hate for anything to happen to you or any other member of the Family!

Hopefully be 100% fine and not get maimed by an exploding battery
This^^

I didn't even think about that at all.
Geesh.
I think my guardian angel must be watching out for me.
I was so embarrassed about it I considered not posting and if it wasn't for answering Nila's post to me I probably would have kept it to myself.
I just had no idea.
I am going to educate myself today on these batteries. I know there is info on ECF and I will read it.
Thank you so much, Dishy et al.

I think everyone will agree that you shouldn't be embarrassed to share experiences or ask questions .... and I think only a liar would claim they've never accidentally washed/dried clothes with something that shouldn't be in a pocket..... twice I've melted down my credit cards and ruined 2 expensive wallets LOL
