How is the nicotine delivered via e-cigs? Is it through absorbtion in the mouth tissues (like nicotine gum) or is it through actually inhaling into the lungs? I've been off cigarettes for over one & a half years after 50 years of smoking. I love vaping but have been fighting bronchitis for over a month and 3 kinds of antibiotics. I love vaping but am finding that I cough uncontrollably if I inhale. On the other hand, if I just hold the vapor in my mouth without inhaling, there is no coughing. I'm using zero nicotine or only 6 mg. of 50/50 pg-vg. I would really appreciate any comments ....

i also cough when inhale into lungs.i was told people hold vapor in mouth few seconds and then inhale into lungs but that makes me cough as well. only thing that works for me is if i take vapor in mouth hold for a few seconds and exhale through mouth or nose. this way no vapor going into lungs which for me is good as i have chronic bronchitis. hope this helps

After smoking for 20 years, then switching to nico-gum, I've noticed that holding the vape in my mouth is quite effective. I usually blow it out my nose. I only inhale when my fluid is only VG and nicotine. If mouth hits aren't doing it for you, you may need stronger nicotine per ml. I'd suggest you take care with this; nicotine from vaping won't hit you like a cigarette will (1 micron particle size in smoke vs. 10 micron in vaping) It will sneak up on you. I usually notice by a slight headache, but this will differ from person to person. Good luck!

Vaping cured my chronic bronchitis. For many years I rued the day primatene and other bronchial inhalers/dialators were taken off the market to make way for prescription inhalers. I bought every personal inhaler/vaperizer made. The best was one by Vicks but it was hard to get the steam all the way into the bronchials. That's all a thing of the past now. Bless PVs!!!!! I would use mine zero nic just for that!

I agree with the previous post that the nicotine is unlikely to be causing the cough. Any one of the other chemicals in the electronic cigarettes could be causing an allergic type spasm of your airways and causing a cough. Just like some people are allergic to cats and others are not same with chemicals. These chemicals seem to be well tolerated by the vast majority but some will see side effects and for you that is coughing. So you may want to try using different juices and see if you tolerate another one better.
