K, so I've been vaping for about a month now, and I swear there's a difference in the taste/throat hit when there's more nicotine. It's a little harsher to me (I'm using Mrs. T's e-juice) when I have a higher nicotine mg.
For when I feel the need to vape, like a need to have an analog, I vape 18mg.
When I just want something to munch on I vape 6mg (when I get bored I used to either eat or smoke, so I refer to it as the munchies).

I've been told repeatedly that nicotine amount has no bearing on taste, but it seems like it does to me.

ALSO, I've been told that the vape smoke that I exhale smells like an analog. Only by one person, using rootbeer flavor juice, 18mg.

Anybody else notice these things or been told this?

Some people need to be told what they are tasting, you will see it a lot when people eat candy that isn't identified. They know its sweet and it has some familiar flavor but they can't tell what it is. The same applies to vape, it looks like smoke and if they don't know the scent right away they assume that it is smoke. If you tell them the flavor they will begin to smell that if there is enough scent in the vapor to even be detected.

I vape tobacco and coffee flavors, I have had people comment on the tobacco but they never say it smells like smoke, if anything they say it smells like their grandfather's pipe tobacco when the can is opened.

While PG can help with throat hit it can't give you throat hit 100% by itself. It's as if PG enhances the nic TH.

VG on the other hand produces better vapor, that's why people usually get a blend of the two in their juices.

And while most flavors won't give a strong smell, the more flavoring involved, the more smell it CAN produce; at least in my experience. And yes, when I tried making some rootbeer it smelled like a cigarette if I put it up to my nose and whiffed it while not burning. The only time I've gotten a 'smoke' scent was when I was burning atties >.< but that's just more burnt than anything else. ha

So, for the average, no you can't smell a lot of flavors and I've never smelled smoke BUT I wouldn't put the entire idea out of my head because stranger things have happened.

When I was investigating e-cigs, I drew created a guide on nicotine levels for my own reference. There is information on the internet that supports this but I wouldn't take it as gospel. Relative to cigarettes, eliquid might be thought of as something like this...

- 0 mg/ml nic -
- 6 mg/ml nic - Ultra Lite
- 12 mg/ml nic - Lite
- 18 mg/ml nic - Regular
- 24 mg/ml nic - Full Flavor
- 36 mg/ml nic - Very Stout

I hand been smoking stuff-your-own pipe tobacco cigarettes at the rate of about 2 1/4 packs per day. I thought 36 ml/mg would be a good starting point. I was soon remined that nicotine is a vasorestrictor and thus gave up caffiene (also a vr) and went to 24 mg/ml eliquid. I do fine on my 24 mg/ml eLiquids and bold decafinated coffee!
