I started vaping two and a half months ago, leaving behind a decade of smoking. The switch to vaping was easy for me; I immediately liked vaping compared to smoking. I have tried a few analogs in the months since i quit, and thoroughly didn't like their flavor. The last analog I had, I bummed from a friend, was the same analog i had been smoking and used to enjoy. I took 3, maybe 4, puffs before dunking it in some water and throwing it away. Boy was it awful tasting. You really don't notice how much smoking destroys your sense of smell/taste until it returns to you.

I have now decided to go nicotine free and have been for the past 3-4 days. No problems at all for me. I plan to continue vaping without nicotine. My only problem with going to no nicotine is my all day vape flavor no longer has that tobacco taste that i enjoyed. I was, and am, using Vermillion Rivers Maplewood flavor. Since reducing to the zero nic, it doesn't have that same flavor. I'm gonna have to do some searching.

Really just wanted to share my experience, but if anyone knows of a nice tobacco/maple flavor at zero nicotine, please do share.

I've said it before; love the forum. It's been a huge help pointing me in the right direction for all my vaping needs.

First, great for you getting off nicotine! Unfortunately, as you've discovered, dropping nicotine can impact flavor and throat hit. I dropped down to 10mg when I started DIYing recently and had the same experience. What helps with the throat hit, and may help you with the flavor (when I vape vendor juice it's usually VR), is to add 2 or 3 drops of PGA like Everclear or high test vodka per ml of juice. It'll return the "edge" you get from nicotine and seems to enhance the flavor to me.

I bought a couple drip tips and I've noticed a substantial throat hit boost since.
