A few months ago, I accidentally ordered 12mg instead of 18 (I order 5-6 months worth of juice at a time). I was bummed, but --> Shortly after, I decided to join the rebuildable party. From what I've read here on ECF, I thought that I'd probably end up deciding my errant click that got me 12 instead of 18 would turn out to be my good fortune.
Nope. I ended up ordering some nic base to stiffen up the 12mg and get it a lot closer to the 18 I've been using for the last 3 or so years.
I don't have much by way of theories as to why my experience is different than so many others I have read. It might be because I was already using a high performance PV and high performance commercial attys. What I have now for rebuildables and how I set them up certainly outperform the commercial attys in vapor density, flavor, etc... but I'm consuming the same amount of juice daily (I'm taking fewer drags to do it - my rebuildables consume more juice per drag). My ml per day remains the same and my preference for mg per ml remains the same.
IMO I think it all has to do with the type of cigs that we used to smoke, and how much we used to smoke, or what they label as your preferred nicotine level that you start with. I was a Marlboro menthol full / camel menthol lights smoker for 15 years. I picked up 1 of those blu gas station disposable ecigs about 6 months ago. It said on the back of the package that it was 17-24 mg. I took about 10 puffs on my cigs, and smoked about a PAD. So I tried that with the blu, and I found myself taking 10 puffs every 30-45 mins, and after a few hours I was dizzy. So I went back to smoking because I didn't know any better, about all the different nicotine levels and what not.
Then a couple months ago, after a little research, I picked up an itaste vv 3.0 with an iclear 30, figured hell under $40/shipped I will just give it another shot. And went to my local B&M and they told me to go with an 18, but I remembered how dizzy that blu ecig made me...so I decided to go with the lowest they had...and although I am puffing on the clearo's all day, I haven't felt the need to go up from the 6.
Since I am trying to get down to 0, I did a wizard labs order, and made some juice in 3, 4, & 5 as well. So going to try and taper down.
I wanted to get into RDA's, not because I want to make 0.1 SubOhm coils, and post my gigantic clouds on YouTube, But simply because I am having a hard time getting a nice hit on the itaste vv & my mod with the i30 clearo's. If I go above 3.8 volts & 8 watts, I get a burnt taste with 2.1 ohm dual coils.
