ok my journey has continued with the two 401 products that i have.

thursday night i went out to the bar, and got my normal seat AT the bar, in the midst of the loud crowds and yelling around me. also i'm a regular, so i know most of the people that frequent, and no one was hesitant to ask "wtf dude WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??"

so...as a side note...for all of you that sell product, include several cards in the orders :) i had a stack of cards from PS, so i handed those out (had about 7 on me).

for the record, i'm not a germ-a-phobe either, so i let two or three people try it out that wanted to. at that point, as much vodka as i was drinking was sure to kill the germs.... ;)

the look on their faces though, priceless. they were all just amazed and awed at them, and of course...this forum has given me great knowledge to explain them. most all i heard was "yeah i saw those at the mall...." and had to keep repeating "OK DONT' buy ONE FROM THE MALL!!!!"

seriously...not sure which brand is being sold here, but it's a 103 and about $100 for a kit. sigh. maybe i should go give them a lesson? haha.

anyway...so, as the night fared, i had two fully charged batteries, had no sign of weakness from them, but i only got to the bar at 11pm-2am so they lasted longer than 3 hours. actually both are still working since then but i've been playing with my new 901.

none of the loud noise around me from people, talking, yelling, jukebox...nothing was setting them off. so, this field test scores a "win."

from my experience with them in public now, i'm narrowing it down that it is more vibration than "loud" noise that is setting them off. but yes, you can yell at the battery and it will set off, which again...sound waves, voice, yelling...vibration...science. don't yell at them. it will set them off, and you'll look like a crazy person when you yell at plastic cigs.

so thus far, one night i'd sat in the back of the same bar where it is quieter, and didn't have a problem with the batts.

other night when i went to a club to watch Sparkomatic's live band play...the bass guitar and reverb were pounding my batteries (but his 901 had no issues being a pneumatic switch, not electronic).

third go, my same bar as the "first" night, sitting at the loudest point in the place...the bar...and had no problems whatsoever with noise or loudness setting them off.

one thing to note too, i've read posts about the slightest air passing over the battery tips setting them off? i believe somewhere Spikey said she dropped hers in a theater and was able to fan her coat and the wind set it off? i've been trying similar things and can't set mine off. i can though, blow at it and set them off. i tried sticking it in front of my air vents in my car and it doesn't do it though. some may just be more sensitive, or it could just be slight variances in the direction or flow of the air, who knows.

again, just my personal experience :)

so...my summation..i still love my 401. i also got a 901 for when the situation calls for it, if it's going to be uber loud or extra bass or something, and when i go out i will most likely just carry both, and if the 401 acts up, i can swap to the 901. i will prefer the longer battery life of the 401, but i think a couple 901 batts will last me the 4-5 hours at night that i'd be out anyway since i'm not a "glued to my lips" vaper.

so, hope that helps.

soon enough i'll post pics of my journeys :) or just go find my myspace page, there's a few on there. haha.
