I'm new to ecig but here's what I have so far. Unfortunately there are many providers of ejuice and Cartomizers so all of them would have to get their products tested and I guess certified some how. If the Government and FDA is concerned then they should ensure that all manufacturers have their juice or Carts certified some how..

I've read Dekang basically supplies 90% of e liguid etc. and according to findings they are GMP and ISO9001 etc etc etc... All batches of product are supposedly QC'd etc. I am concerned for safety and would support independent studies.

That's the problem we're facing. In another thread I put forward the idea of having members contribute to a fund so we here could hire an independent lab, but the biggest response I got was "it's the manufacturer's responsibility".

I still haven't had time to contact any to find out what this would cost.

According to the press release, they used an independent lab.

“Based on my review of scientific literature, NAT is not toxic and not carcinogenic, and based on the vapor analysis, it is my conclusion that TSNAs do not pose a health risk to the users of the electronic cigarettes distributed by NJOY,” said Ben Thomas, Ph.D., a well-respected consultant with 35 years' experience in toxicology, pathology and risk mitigation who conducted the analysis in conjunction with premier independent consulting laboratory ANALYZE.

    From Njoy's site:

Thomas has a Bachelor's of Science degree in biology from Tulane University, and Master's of Science and Ph.D degrees in pathology from the Unibersity of Texas Health Science Center where he is currently an adjunct professor of toxicology/risk assessment in addition to being president of the Ben Thomas Group. he has been published or presented nearly 60 times, chaired six toxicology task forces, has provided expert testimkony for numerous cases, and was a senior managing scientist at Exponent among other positions.

    Not a bad resume.

As far as peer review, Njoy needs to release the report first, which is what I'm waiting for.

Here's a question for those who are overly concerned with the safety of the liquids.....are you equally as concerned with the safety of tobacco cigarettes? Who is certifying the safety of cigarettes that we now smoke? Who guarantees that someone in the manufacturing of cigarettes does not spray them with a lethal substance? I like the idea of some regulatory effort to assure the safety of the liquid that I ingest, but there are inherent problems with regulation of anything....be careful what you ask for.

    Yes. Outlaw them completely ;)

Well with e-cigs I don't see the problem with liquids, never had a health problem with any liquid and child safe storage is more a social problem, got much more problems with atomizer factory quality spreads:
