Above is an image of what the inside of all my cartridges look like after only a few pulls.

why is there no warning about this happening? and is this normal? am i overheating somehow?

what is going on?

In a previous post i made about this, someone mentioned it was because it was too dry, this one was soaking wet when i took it apart.

PLEASE give me some insight on this..

I've had a few that burned hot and when they start doing this, I've had to keep them pretty saturated.
That means, since I drip, I constantly had to add drops.

There is two types by the way. One type has a wider arch than the other. The thinner one is the only that has done this.
I know TW has the skinner type and Heaven's Gifts carry the wider.

I'm not sure you will "like" my reply, but here goes ......

When I first got the NPro, I puffed on it like a cigarette. Meaning I would take several puffs all in a row, back to back. Maybe 2 to 4 in a minute. This caused the carto to heat up and burn. I found that if I took one long puff and then waited at least a minute or so before taking another, it would not burn. YMMV.

I also found the cartos don't last very long. For me, I would use 2 per day. As soon as the taste changes, that means it's getting dry and beginning to burn. You can replace it at this point, or try refilling.

EDIT: I say I'm not sure you will "like" the reply 'cause it's sort of a pain to wait between puffs. But I quickly got used to it for the most part.

thanks for all the responses, still this is very disappointing.

so, say i know the inside is burnt and i keep puffing anyway... how harmful is it to inhale burnt string? not too bad ? LOL

FFF..... - just when i was really starting to enjoy it and was convinced i was done with analogs, things get tricky, i knew it was too good to be true when i was blowing out huge clouds of 'vapor'

Hopefully you can stick with it - you have made it this far. The NPro may not meet your needs, but hopefully it has demonstrated that you can get off of the cancer sticks and replace it with something that you can enjoy.

You might want to consider an upgrade. A 3 piece kit (battery + atomizer + cartridge) will give you lots of flexibility, and you can top it off often to ensure that you don't burn the filler. You will have to spend more money in the short term ... but the NPro cartomizers are expensive, so you will save money in the long run.

Best of luck. Please keep us posted.

thanks moss your reply was one of the more helpful ones i got, considering you dealt first hand with the same product and the same problem.

i find it hard to believe that all the youtube reviews i watched on the njoy npro, NO ONE mentioned this!?

furthermore, anyone who is a smoker trying to switch over to these is bound to come across this issue, like you said i was taking many pulls in a short period of time, in a sense 'steaming' it, in order to get nice amounts of vapor.

do you think it is very harmful to continue to puff on these even though i know the inside is slightly burned?

i will definitely continue to pursue using ecigs/vapor over analogs, just very disappointing considering i was praising/recommending these to everyone i know who smokes.

any recommendations for brands i should switch to? what do you use?

I'm glad you plan to stick with it. And yes - it is frustrating that they do not mention the cartos burning. There is a LOT of vaping that i have found to be trial and error.....

In the short term, hopefully you can figure out a technique to get your NPro working. I did find a technique that got decent vapor without burning out the carto you might want to try. Take a quick "primer" puff (1 second or so) just until the light blinks on and then off. Immediately follow with a very slow, long hit (about 5 or 6 seconds). Make sure to suck into your mouth and not directly into your lungs. Also suck very slowly - like sipping through a coffee stirrer. After you have the vapor in your mouth, quickly inhale and exhale. I could get decent vapor and a good throat hit this way. As long as I waited between puffs, I didn't singe the filler. Hope that works for you. Last tip is that the regular cartridges are much sweeter, and I think that some of the burning was the sugar. The menthol seems to have less sugar and doesn't burn as easily. This may also just be my imagination.

In terms of whether to use the singed cartos, that's a health and a money issue. The cartos are kind of expensive at $4 a pop. Ideally, I would not use the singed ones. But I would guess that a singed carto is better than smoking a cancer stick.

In terms of a brand to use, I sort of went all out and got a Joye 510 and a Joye eGo. I felt like I was on to something that was working, so I "went for it". Both have pros and cons. I found youtube videos to be extremely helpful when I was trying to decide. Actually seeing someone use the device somehow helped. There was one video in particular from Ritalee76 that I really liked:

YouTube - E-Cig Comparison

MistressNomad also has GREAT vids that were helpful.

Sorry for the long reply, but one last comment. You basically have to "break" the NPro cartos to see if it is singed inside (you have to pull the cover off, and I don't think it is supposed to come off). If you have a 3 piece unit, you just pop it open and look inside. So no worry about singing the filler.

Again - good luck!

EDIT: Sorry ... one more "last" comment .... I found it difficult to know when to change my carto since it would still produce vapor even though it was "done". As soon as the carto starts to taste funny or burned, change it out. If you continue to use it, it will still produce vapor but it will start to burn the filler. If is starts to suddenly feel "extra dry" in the back of your throat when you hit it, it is definitely done.
