When I used to smoke regular cigarettes, I used to feel bowel movement/ sensation within minutes as nicotine is a good laxative. When I used e-cig with 11mg liquid, I did not feel any sensation. I even tried to bump upto 16mg but still no good. Does anyone know why ? Do I need to jump to 36mg as I think I may not be getting enough nictotine for stimulation. I suffer from constipation troubles & cigarette is the only guaranteed stimulant for me. I already tried different methods to get rid of constipation but no good.

I noticed the same thing. Very strange. I wonder if some of the other chemicals in analogs are synergistic with the nicotine effect..

That being said, if you don't drink enough water try increasing your fluid intake like RatRacer said. That's the first thing we tell people that have that problem.

I have noticed that I have been drinking a lot more water since I started vaping. Not sure if it's because I am more dehydrated, but it does really dry my mouth out.

Also has helped my allergies tenfold.

It's odd that PG would constipate, especially since its not really being introduce to the GI tract. Nicotine stimulates peristalsis, and I know that a derivative of PG is used as an oral laxative. Cant remember if its Propylene Glycol or Polyethylene Glycol....

To the OP, just curious, how long have you been vaping? It could be that coming off some of the toxins may cause this too. Or if some of the other stuff in analogs were helping you, your body might just be going back to its "Pre-smoking" mode, whereas you don't have the help.

EDIT: Its Propylene Glycol, same stuff as Golytely which is used prior to bowel surgeries/colonoscopies to clear out the colon. Didn't realize that... good news for the "It's the same stuff in antifreeze" argument :D

Carbon Monoxide paralyzes your muscles, including your bowels. Hence the laxative effect. You are no longer ingesting Carbon Monoxide.

Mangosteen is a great and delicious nutrient and is great for the GI system. I also have to take Senna-s available otc for constipation as I take pretty heavy doses of narcotics for chronic pain. The main thing is to definitely keep the water flowing, drink plenty especially while vaping. Best of luck and as always Happy Vaping

If CO paralyses the bowels, how would it create a laxative effect?

Not sure enough carbon monoxide is being ingested to do that, besides, that would slow peristalsis which is what moves BM through the bowel.

Pretty sure that nicotine being a stimulant is what causes the BMs. Not unlike caffeine which I believe is found in Senekot.

Yes, all I know is that I used to have one immediately after I had my morning coffee and cigarette. Now I'm lucky if I get the urge at all! LOL.

To be honest, I used to have the opposite problem, and now I am okay. So there maybe something too it.

Bowels are a strange organ. Somethings that stop one guy up will clean out the next guy.

Thats why when you see a list of side effects (even with laxatives) the standard BM section will say: May cause ........, may cause constipation.

You just never know! And thats what makes them SO DAMNED FUN! Muahahaahhaha!

Miralax also used prior to colonoscopy is Polyethylene Glycol similar derivative. My wife had a similar problem when she started vaping but things eased up drinking plenty of fluids. If you haven't moved your bowels for a few days the OTC miralax will clean you out!
Thats one of the products I use daily and have been for 8 yrs. now.

to regulate your system try probiotic particularly acidopholus. Many grocery stores and I'm thinking all nitrition stores carry it in capsule form. It is also the 'active cultures' they refer to in yogurt. It helps whether you are going too much or not enough. You may have to play with the dosage to find what works for you. I recommend this to everyone I know and have never had anyone try it without success.

I'm theorizing. But basically CO has an anti-inflammatory effect on the bowels.

Post count isn't high enough for links but:

www(dot)ncbi(dot)nlm(dot)nih(dot)gov/pubmed/12912858

Nicotine has a greater laxative effect, however avn is getting nicotine.
