So I just rebuilt my first and second atomizer. First was an A7 atomizer, second was the Smoktech rda.
The materials used were Kanthal A-1 Resistance Wire - 32 AWG and 1mm Fiberglass wick, both sold by The Electronic Cigarette Super Store | myvaporstore.com
When I wrapped the first wick on the A7 I used 4 loops, and 5 loops on the Smoktech. I test fired both and they both produce a fair amount of vapor. However once I seal the unit, and go to take a drag on it. I get a very very strong throat hit, and almost zero vapor.
I am using a 50/50 blend, I have tried 5 different juices, This is the same juice that I used in these atomizers prior to rebuilding them, and I got alot of vapor. I also use it in cartomizers, and in ViVi's.

I am at a loss on this one, is there anyone who can provide some insight?

EDIT: Pics Added.

Make sure you're not missing an air hole you need to line up. My octopus dripping atty was doing the same thing, throat hit but no vapor. Turns out there was an itty bitty air hole I didn't have lined up properly. Swiveled it around a bit and bingo!

My other thought is perhaps when you sealed it, the cap is somehow creating a short. I know the aga-t is slightly prone to that issue. I really feel it has something to do with the cap, or seal, or air hole. If its firing and not hot spotting than I can't see how it could be your build quality.

I was thinking the same thing...position of the coil. That could cause shorting to the cap and/or misalignment with the air hole. But without a pic we would just be guessing.

Ok, so here are the 2 atty's as mentioned above. I am also attaching to the first post for any new lookers.

Thank you so much for this. Just bored a hole into my RDA. Works prefect. Now to figure out how to fix my A7.

Mine had the air hole down almost to the very bottom of that style atty. I had to look hard to get it to match up.

Where did you get yours from? I've seen some slight variations of this style from different places. I ordered mine from got vapes a couple weeks ago.

Glad you got it working though!

Mine has the same hole, but it just wasn't providing good enough airflow. I got it from a local brick and mortar store here Buy Ecigs Online | Premium E Cigarettes | Best Joye E cigs | Saffire Vapor

I am pretty sure your coil needs to be positioned directly above that center hole. You are just overcooking the juice with the coil over there.

Bingo, Thanks alot on that one. Re-Positioned the coil over the center hole, and its vaping great now.

I love my A7! Once you get used to rebuilding it you can almost do it with your eyes closed. The trick is to get the legs from the coil pointing opposite directions, so one goes to the left and one goes to the right. If the posts of the A7 are tight (yes, they DO unscrew!) one will have it's wire hole pointed right at the air hole. I put the the first wire through this one and tighten it enough that it doesn't move easily... Then the coil lays sort of diagonally over the air hole and I feed the other wire through the other post through the hole furthest away. I tend to wrap a 5/4 and I make sure that the legs are coming off of the bottom side of the wick when I mount it, so in other words the "4" side of the coil is up, towards your mouth. This helps keep the wick high enough above the airhole... better vape and not so prone to getting gurgley when you fill it.

Have my first two RDA's in the mail.

That said I absolutely adore my AGA-T2 with SS. I punch the air hole out in that too, to 1.5mm, and it's a vapor rock star to be sure. The glass tank is awesome when it comes to my less plastic friendly juices like lemonade and absinthe too. Only thing I don't like about it is having to disconnect the coil to clean the tank out between refills. I don't like leaving excess wire in there so I end up re-wrapping the wick each time I give it a good cleaning (every juice change). Wanting to get a spring/washer mod on it soon so maybe that will help.
