A couple days ago I got a Joytech 18650B, 3400 MaH battery, came home with it, put it on the charger to bring it up to full charge, and it never got there. The next morning the light on my Trustfire charger was still red for that battery. I left that battery in the charger for 18-20 hours, and still no green light.

Then I later on read in a post here that sometimes the Trustfire charger doesn't give a green light with those batteries, so, having charged it for over 24 hours already I put it in my mod and went out to dinner with it. Doug and I were out for about 3 hours and by the time we were ready to come home it was vaping really weak.

I thought, okay, maybe it's the coil, but when I got back and pulled a green lighted 1800 MaH 18500 out of the charger and put it in the mod the vape was good and strong and I could hear it making vapor in the Protank, and I was getting big clouds, so obviously it wasn't the coil.

The bigger battery did this at first, but wore down very fast after over a full day of charging, so I really don't know what to think here. Did I just get a bad battery?

The guy at Royal Vapors who sold me that battery told me it lasts him two weeks. It didn't last me two hours, and I charged it for over 24 hours. What the....???

Sounds like a bad battery, if you have access to a multimeter, check what is the max charge the battery is taking, should be charging to ~4.1xv.

If you bought it at a B & M/don't have access to a multimeter, id just return it and find out what their customer service is like, hopefully theyll make it right.

Yeah I'll certainly take it back and ask to exchange it for another, and I'd rather have the Panasonic I asked for in the first place, but didn't get. This battery was just in it's little cardboard box, no plastic around the box at all and I am wondering if Joytech batteries are shipped like that.

It doesn't seem like industry standard to just stuff a new battery in a simple thin cardboard box like that that can be opened and closed again before the customer gets it. Maybe I should avoid Joytech batteries after this if they don't seal their products as everyone else does. Every other battery I've bought was sealed in plastic until I opened it myself.

Yeah, sounds like a dud. I've heard from a few places that since the industry is still pretty young quality control for the time being leaves a lot to be desired.

Batteries extend far beyond our little nich. Sounds like a dud or your charger doesn't like pushing that much reserve. Won't know until you try another one.

Just a littly FYI...Joyetech doesn't make batteries. I believe these are the batteries you purchased. $16.21 Panasonic NCR18650B Protected Rechargeable 3400mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack / overcharge + over-discharge protection at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Yup, that's the battery alright, and it's not taking a full charge still. Pretty sure it's a dud. Could it be that my Trustfire charger is the problem? I've read some posts by those not happy with it. I'm thinking I want the Nitecore charger instead.

The Trustfire charger does recharge the two 1800 MaH 18500 batteries I got with it, and it does take a long time, like 6 hours even though they are not run down all the way, so it's clearly a slow charger, which, as I understand it, is much better for battery life and reliability, but good grief, a battery that doesn't get to full charge in 24 hours when brand new just isn't useful to me.
