No love for 18490/18500 from companies?

It seems that 18350 and 18650 gets all the amp/mah upgrades lol. 18490/18500 is my favorite size and balance of the bunch too :/.

Same i love the 18490 AW's. I just havent seen anything new for this size in while copared to 350 and 650.

I wish the battery companies would notice this and make some 490/500s some of those great features. This is my favorite size in mods. 18650 just gets too long and with smaller hands just harder to handle especially with heavy devices like my ELA's and Odysseus combo.

18490/500 is definitely IMHO the best size for a mod, but yeah, as the OP mentioned, the amp limitation kinda prevents me from using them due to the coil resistance I like to use.

I'm pretty sure if they released a 30A 18500 it would be sold out within minutes

in this size category, i dont think it can get much better than an AW 18490. with its 16.5A limit, its is already head and shoulders above the rest. i try not to be fooled by the fact that theyve been out for years, yet still remain well ahead of the pack.

i mean, Efest totally reworked their design, yet still couldnt top the AW in the 18490/18500 area. they managed to surpass the AW 18350 and the AW 18650 1600mAh in terms of max amp draw, but AW still remains king in the 490/500 dept. heck, the other sized AWs still might be the best in terms of overall lifetime. im seeing a 300 charge cycle for the eFest purple 18350s. AW is basically doubling that.

but back on topic, i dont know how many more amps an 18490 could theoretically do. 16.5A is not only plenty of current for me, but also abnormally high for its size. i mean when you think about it, there are tons of 18650s that cant even do 16.5A and those have a lot more physical room, relatively speaking, for lithium ions. plus i rarely push over 10A so these puppies are basically perfect IMO. i have 3 from August 2012 that all still pump just like they should.
