Over two weeks now and my Wismec and smok TFV8 Baby beast have taken over the need to buy cigarettes ! I think theres a huge problem with trying to find the right system that will make an easy transition for people to quit smoking. I started with the first E-cigs, that were essentially a cigarette with a pre loaded amount of E juice, and a small adapter to plug it into a USB. Worthless. It was like smoking a light cigarette that was broken. This does not allow people to even notice a difference between the two. Then i went to Apsire's products. Big, heavy and tall stainless steel units with the beginning technologies of Claromizers and Atomizers. Rebuildable confusion. And frustrations of them not working right, or waiting forever for things/replacements to come from China. What a waste of time and money waiting until the right tech comes out. Older mods were still not creating a significant amount of smoke to make the switch off of cigarettes, and i was smoking in between because of that. These new mods and tanks put out so much vapor, that smoking a regular cigarette is almost un-noticeable now in terms of the smoke density I'm now used to. Ive dabbled in buying pre mixed juices that were expensive for small amounts from places like Vapor Chef, or what Virgin Vapors offers. Then I was steered towards Bull city Vapors, where i started the task of creating my own mixes that i will use everyday. I had no idea why i chose a 70/30 VG/PG mix of Nude Nicotine's base but i bought it. Its so thick the syringes i bought can't even extract it. So for now, I took a couple of empty glass bottles and started making my own mixes, with no graduated tools to create a percentage mixture. I filled the bottle to 80% (by eye) and filled the rest with a blend of Ripe Pear, TFA Mango, peach, TFA strawberry ripe, FW blood Orange and a minute amount of vanilla creme. IMO its amazing, but thats just me. I would test small amounts and added a bit more here and there and ended up with a perfect mix of those fruits. I narrowed down some awesome flavors like Hobbes Blood and have a pretty good idea of what it takes to make it now. But really, i have little to no idea what I'm doing other than to mix it by concentration of how it smells. If it smells light, it generally tastes the same way I've noticed. I would be interested in hearing what awesome flavors other people have hit the nail on the head with accuracy ! Id like to find the best of the best flavor mixes, that other people have found through messing around.... And any advice anyone has about the Aspire Cleito, if its better than the 8 coil TFV8 would be great ! For anyone out there that likes a dense fruit flavor that doesnt really stand out but shows up well in a mix i've found is Pear. Try it out in a fruit mix and see what you think, its a great Mango substitute...

When I started mixing, I recorded everything - so when I made a batch I liked, I could recreate it. And we use "percentages" for the recipe - so I can make 100 mls, or 15mls or whatever - and it's the same.

I recommend a calculator. This will let you vape your mix, then decide "gee, I need it a little thinner for winter - let me change JUST the PG percentage, but keep the overall flavoring percentages the same". Or you could decide "I'm going to make some that is the same strength flavor, but drop the nicotine from 12 down to 10". Or "let me increase the Pear by just a tiny bit". You get the idea.

I use the PC program e-juice-me-up. You put in your recipe (in percentages, and nic strength, etc) and it tells you how many mls of each ingredient to get the strength, PG/VG, and flavor percentages right. And lets you "Save As" so you have your experimental recipe saved to start from next time.

Have fun!

CumulusRoom, for easy measuring you can use pipettes:

rVI3UT5.jpg

(good for measuring nicotine and concentrated flavors), and graduated beakers (good for measuring base), all of which measure in milliliters (and increments thereof):

DkhN1fB.jpg

you can get inexpensive plastic ones of both from most places that sell vape stuff / DIY vape stuff.

A lot of people measure by weight instead, and I'll probably do this eventually, but I'm sure my kitchen digital scale can't handle the minuscule amounts of some of my mix ingredients, so for now I'm using these. The syringes were too fiddly for me, and didn't handle VG well, so I'm still mixing this way for now. More dependable than just judging by eye, and cheap to use and replace!

If tge OP can't get tge VG and PG in the syringe use a pipette or medicine dripper and when it calls for 30 ml add 30 grams to the beaker by weight and your ratio will be almost as accurate as using the syringe

I concur about getting an ejuice calculator 100%

Very good suggestions. I am considering 12 50 ml beakers myself. Already have pipettes.

I highly recommend picking up an inexpensive scale on Amazon that measures to 2 decimal places. Once you buy beakers and pipettes you're pretty much at the price of an AWS-100 scale. Soooooo much easier to throw your mixes together.

And congrats on getting off the cigs! I noticed that I am at 99 days today - 100 days tomorrow. Yay!!! After over 40 years of smoking never did I think I would make it this far. Now I can't even imagine smoking another cig.

I smoked 38 years and thought i would die of Enphyxema, Congestive Heart failure or COPD.

Next May will be vaping 4 years. Been COMPLETELY nicotine free for 11 months day after tomorrow.

Glad vaping works for you.

Been vaping almost 4 years after smoking 38 years.

I LOVE brownie, butter rum, peach mango and coconut cream pie Vapes.

Btw that is vapor not smoke.

Went 0 mg nicotine 11 years ago. Started at 18 mg.

Thanks ! I started smoking around 1989, right now I'm at 12mg and 8 mg nicotine and won't be long until thats narrowed down. Did you mean that you liked all of those as a mix or are you using separately? Sounds really good, i'll give those a try.

Those are all great tips and is a good idea of which step comes next, and this advice is great ! I will check out that site and set that up ! The fact you can save recipes is awesome. Thanks and any tip helps !

So my brother the other day bought a scale on amazon and some empty bottles, syringes and measuring tools and sent them to me (which i havent received yet). So i guess now I'm looking at mixing by weight....but still need whatever else thats required with creating the mixes. Im not sure which scale it is... Im happy i found a forum for this stuff, a good forum at that, and it helps to hear everyone else's story that has been able to quit with these e-cigarettes. Got so sick of smelling them, and everything around me smelling of cigarettes, and always having to go outside or be away from everyone because i was the only person at the party who smoked...

Well its looking now like I'm going to be using a scale as my Brother went and bought me a whole bunch of mixing tools, and graduated cylinders so all of the advice you gave will work perfectly. I want to be able to do it both ways if something goes wrong, like the scale breaking randomly. Im know i'll be using the things you suggested so thanks for that ! All of these things you all have mentioned are helpful and I'm thankful for that !

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay @CumulusRoom !

I have no problem getting my VG or Nicotine in VG into syringes although it is slightly tight but you might want to try using a larger blunt needle tip if you are having trouble. Works for me.

Yes i agree that is good advice, the metal tip is way too small..
