Hard to fight the ninth richest nut bag in the world on a mission:

"Michael R. Bloomberg... is now stepping into the campaign to combat vaping, announcing a $160 million push to ban flavored e-cigarettes."

Vote everyone out and push for campaign finance reform.

Cheers

Wow...how could they cram that much stupidity and nonsense in one article?
I mean the New York Times is famous, see it in movies,it's mentioned everywhere and yet they write stuff like this which i quote from the article itself:

His announcement on Tuesday was among a series of developments meant to heighten pressure and scrutiny on the vaping industry, amid a sudden and largely unexplained public health scare that has linked vaping to six deaths and hundreds of illnesses.

The most recent death, tied to a severe lung illness believed to be related to vaping, was announced on Tuesday, in Kansas.

Why don't they write an article with some truth behind it?

Deaths by vaping PG/VG and aromas? NONE
Deaths by vaping Vitamin E acetate? YEP

Kids buy the cannabis pods from a guy in the alleyway behind the 7-11 who is selling them from the trunk of his car.
Kids get sick and instead of owning up to THEIR mistake and come clean they just say: oh no daddy and mommy i was just vaping, vaping is the cause of my sickness...blame them, and there we go.

Gee,feel sorry for you guys but this just goes to prove that rich folks can be dumb as cinder blocks.

Cuomo, "We follow the data. We follow the facts. We follow the science."

This for COVID-19.

Wish he would follow the same principles when it comes to vaping.

And to top it off, NY is one of the worst places to be in the world to catch the virus. I don't think they follow anything and they just make it up as they go along. :(

Cuomo is a tool. The smart rich people are self-made think Steve Jobs and the guy who did the Dilbert Cartoon. I forget his name but he is incredibly smart. He wrote a few non cartoon books and they were great.

The dumb ones marry each other or do what their parents did since the Mayflower. I mean COME ON he is married to a Kennedy.

The trust fund politicians have been inbreeding with each other since the Mayflower. No offense. But we all know inbreeding leads to like, certain traits being emphasized and others dumb as bricks.

IDK how he got through law school unless his "legacy" included advanced copies of his test, and his particular version he would get to pass the Bar. ;This would not shock me greatly.

I'd rather be smart and scrappy than, well THAT GUY.

OMG I almost dated the husband's best AA friend and I am so glad I picked the HUSBAND. I found out later the friend had a trust fund, and I was like, "I get why you do not advertise that information to prospective chicks you want to date, but honestly, if anything for me it would have been a DETERRENT." LOL.

Last I heard he's working for Bill and Hilary and I would be forced to murder or self-immolate and well it would not be good .I would maybe also like, find a way for someone to BOBBIT Bill. Not for banging Monica or whatever he did, but for lying about it under oath then PUBLISHING a book longer than the dictionary self-congratulating himself on ALL that he did.

He deserves to be neutered for that alone. It is the sort of book that is useful if you do not lie to iron. You can stick your clothes underneath and it gets rid of al lhe wrinkles.

@jwbaccaro.83933, My 3 liter 100mg/ml nic base stash vaping at 3mg mix strength is projected to last me 27 years (9 years per liter). At my age it's good insurance.

If you vape high nic juice (18mg and up) now would be a good time to taper down. I smoked 2 PAD back in 2010 and started vaping at 24mg. It didn't take long to taper down to 3mg strength from my starting point at 24mg nic. You will save lots of cash at low mix rates and one your body adjusts you will be fine at a lower nic mix.

OK so I came across this forum and thread trying to find alternatives and/or advise. As many I switched to vaping about 5yrs ago to help curtail/quote smoking true tobacco products for a caveat of reason. I was recently advise by the Vaping company I dealt with in Texas (vapewild) they can no longer ship my preferred e-liquid as it falls under the ban laws for the State of New York and New York City, Its just super menthol flavored, 6mg nicotine, 60/40 (ice cold was the name). Plus they are closing now. I read through all the posts in this thread and other sources but did not see: Does anyone know of a company that can ship to NYC address, even if its regular menthol flavor, I could always cut with more menthol flavor additive if I am understanding things properly? I have even contacted other companies customer support and have been advised "can't ship to New York" or haven't received a reply yet. I am not apposed to trying DIY liquids but after doing some further research I am reading its not as easy as it seems and Governments are making it difficult for procuring products. Any insight/advise? I would be greatly thankful. Be well, Be Safe.

IMO,
Have it ordered by and shipped to someone (a person, not a company) in another state. Have them send it on to you.
Or ROAD TRIP!

For what it's worth, DIY menthol is dead simple.
Menthol crystals average about $6 per ounce. No Bezos needed - Menthol Crystals (1 ounce to 2 lbs)

Unflavored nicotine base, diluents and flavor concentrates "should" ship just fine. YMMV

DIY can be fairly easy in your case since you vape one type of liquid. All you need is:
-nicotine concentrate or base that already has nicotine
-probably a couple of menthol/cool concentrates (find a recipe online with good reviews, or look up the liquid you were vaping online and see if there are any recipes that recreate it. Or find two or three recipes, see which one you like the most, and stick to it
-VG
-PG
-Bottles, pipettes/syringes
-Small jewellery scale (like 0.01g-200g or 0.01g-500g). I have one up to 200g which is sufficient, biggest bottles I use are 120ml
-Online e-liquid calculator. There are plenty free ones online which will do the job

From there it's just adding the right amount of ingredients to a bottle, shaking it well, and letting steep (mature) for some time. Usually steeping takes from a few days to few weeks. I have no experience with menthol or cool flavorings so can't really tell. You can vape pretty much right away after mixing, it just won't have a good flavor profile right from the start, after steeping it will taste better.

DIY only gets complicated if you experiment with multiple flavors to create your own recipes with various steeping time after which you can find out that the batch of the liquid you made turned out to taste crap. If you stick to a simple recipe with good reviews its fairly straightforward

The quicker you get some concentrated nicotine solution (like 100mg/ml-10%, I use 72mg/ml (7.2%) the better. The rest should be much easier to get

1l of 72mg/ml nicotine solution I bought costed just about as much as I'd have to pay for 6-7 average-quality (100ml each) shortfills. And that's enough nicotine to make around 11L of e liquid at 6.5mg/ml. Even after buying flavor concentrates, base pg and VG, and accessories, you'll still be much better off, and if you buy your raw ingredients in bulk, no changes in legislation, or shortages in the market, can affect your lifestyle

My understanding it is a bill to add $3000 of taxes for 1000mg/l. Which is $3000 per gram.
I worked on the math 6 years ago. I spent $3,000 a year to smoke a carton a week. A liter of 100 mg will last me 3.3 years. In round numbers that's $15 a year to replace 200 times the cost of cigarettes (at $60 a carton). A $50 bottle of nic replaces over $9,000 worth of cigaretes. in high tax cities it could be twice that. I'm astonished by how many people don't want to DIY.

Well I have a better understanding of that law. Instead of paying 50 bucks a liter for 100mg nic (or whatever you are paying), like $2700 worth of taxes will be added. For me, that is 4 years worth of nicotine and a 50 times price jump just for DIY.

A big part of why vaping is so disruptive is the first principles are so few and so easy, the cost to impliment is so cheap and there are so many ways to implement it. For the cheap part start with nicotine. $50 of one product replaces $9,000 of some established product. What's more disruptive than that? Over pricing nicotine might create a black market more lucrative than any other that comes to mind. Getting even 10 cents for something that cost you 1 cent might be a better margin than illicit drugs. The tobacco companies know tobacco cigarettes are on the way out. Most governments didn't get the memo.

Nicotine is the single most important ingredient in your DIY stash. You will always be able to buy PG and VG, and probably most flavorings. The other part of ensuring a lasting nic supply is re-bottling and freezing it. I split all my nic into 100ml glass bottles, tighten and tape the caps, and slip each bottle into a zip lock bag. Then, they go into the freezer in a cardboard box.
