I would expect someplace like Massachusetts to ban sales outright, but knowing Connecticut's reputation, you'd think they would just slap a tax on it....

If illegal activity counts as "business opportunity" (if it's true that shipping and sales are banned)...then yes....
But I don't know the details of this yet.

As of right now there isn't a ban on e-cigarettes or liquid. Blumenthal has threatened to ban them, but there has not been a ban put into place. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today issued a consumer warning urging consumers and retailers to avoid e-cigarettes in the wake of a recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) analysis finding cancer-causing chemicals and an antifreeze ingredient in some of the devices.
E-cigarettes, which lack FDA approval, are battery-powered nicotine delivery systems that produce heated vapor instead of smoke. Manufacturers and retailers claim e-cigarettes are a safer, healthier alternative to smoking.
The FDA, however, recently tested two brands, Smoking Everywhere and njoy, finding both contained nitrosamines, known carcinogens. An antifreeze ingredient -- diethylene glycol -- was found in a Smoking Everywhere cartridge. In addition, nicotine levels varied more than 60 percent in cartridges labeled as containing a high concentration of the drug. Researchers also found nicotine in cartridges marked nicotine-free.
Blumenthal said e-cigarettes falsely claim to deliver nicotine without the health risks of smoking. He expressed concern they could addict young people to nicotine, leading them to smoke.
"Despite their fancy hype and alluring flavors, these products deliver carcinogens in a cartridge," Blumenthal said. "These battery powered devices give consumers no clue that they are inhaling toxic and cancer-causing chemicals, as well as luring children into nicotine addiction. Far from providing a safe alternative to smoking, E-cigarettes pose a serious public health risk. They sell vapor instead of smoke -- with the same health risks and costs.
"E-cigarettes are potential nicotine and addiction enablers -- drug pushers, not a smoking cessation aid. Mint and candy flavors cannot mask their menace. Smokers seeking to quit should consult their doctors for safe and effective therapies and products proven to combat nicotine cravings.
"Their motto should be: no smoke or mirrors, just plain cancer and addiction. Recent FDA testing found cancer-causing chemicals and a deadly antifreeze ingredient in e-cigarettes. Levels of nicotine varied wildly -- more than 60 percent -- while supposedly nicotine-free cartridges actually contained the highly addictive drug. That is an article from August, he has begun to act on that article, he seem's to be a bully...I will update you when I can and we are not happy to be excluding the state of Connecticut to our products and are working on a solution. This is all I can really say at this time. We are truly saddened by this situation and when the time is needed we will ask the members of ecf for their support. Again, I will update you when I can.

I searched the Connecticut site, but could not find any legislation or proposed legislation yet on the books. Not saying it's not there, but I'm unable to locate anything. Perhaps they aren't ready to submit to a commitee. It would be best for all CT residents to start acting now, before it is submitted.

Blumenthal seems to be very quiet about what he is doing with this, we have been contacted by his office and it appears to be extremely based on intimidation, however we are not looking for trouble and make sure that all the decisions eliquidplanet makes are the smartest decisions. If there is anything else, you can always send me a pm and dont forget that we may possibly looking for some activism in the future, but now is not that time.
Calif tried to do this, but the Governator declined to act on the bill until the FDA lawsuit was settled

Ah yes. New England is so small that state-by-state sales laws are basically a joke. It's also common to have sympathetic friends or relatives in neighboring states.
I also have visions of e-liquid mobsters in pinstriped suits operating juice production in bathtubs and selling it in speakeasies, driving in dark PT Cruisers with tommy guns past state lines late at night.
WOW reading this Attorney General: Attorney General Applauds FDA For Requesting Alcoholic Energy Drinks Makers Prove Drinks Safety from the site makes me shake my head in pure disgust and pity that people out there are elected to office.
And it seems that everything is done in the name of the betterment of the children or youth, in a time we as a country have fallen behind in education and kids are fed anti-psychotics and anti-depressants and medicated for ADHD, parents going to jail for disciplining their children (I said disciplining not beating) a 9 year old kids being labeled as sex offenders cause they got caught kissing at school or a 10 year old kid that is labeled a terrorist for having a pocket knife at school. WoW I remember when I was in school you could walk out in the parking lot and see rifles and shotguns in the racks of student trucks. And now adults can't have a "fruit flavored" cigarette or vape because it is somehow marketed to children, oh that's right Adults don't like flavored stuff how STUPID of me. We can't have a energy based beer or drinks (which sounds nasty as hell) because it creates an awake drunk! Last I remember growing up I was told drinking coffee after the clubs did nothing to make you more alert or more awake, Oh wait we that was back in the 80's and 90's we have evolved errr sorry to be politically correct "physically adapted" to the effects of alcohol. And his statement if you want to quit then go see a doctor and get a "proven" cessation medication .... sorry possible suicide is not something I want to risk. I could go on and on but I am sure that people see my point.
ARGGGGGHHHH sorry had to vent. Reading the outdated website reminds me of a joke I got in the mail today ...
George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth. Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.
Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that cost is 6 million dollars, so Queen Elizabeth writes him a check. Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that there will be no charge for the call and feel free to call the USA anytime.
When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA free. The devil replied; Since Obama became president of the USA, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call.

I can see a ban on the liquid, theres no control over the supply chain and the most troublesome part of the FDA report is how the supposedly same juice varies wildly in nicotine content... as do the other readings off juices supposedly from the same source... you realize what that means right? chinese suppliers are "cutting" it like drugs to increase profits, and that is why its "unsafe". but i think itd be a lot easier to make homegrown juice, the pv's on the other hand.....

couldn't they stay legal under the same technicality of "water pipes"? your buying a .... to smoke weed, no xxxx, but because it does have a significant legal use as a "tobacco water pipe" its legal. cant we just call them vapor gun toys or something 'not to be used for nicotine consumption' ?

personally tobacco farming was the "family dynasty" so I still have plenty of access to the plants, if i learn how to properly extract nicotine.....
Kind of late to the party, I know, but I've been abroad for a while and just heard about this. Is it still current? In effect? What is being done? What suppliers are we talking about and which ones still do ship?
