No O-Ring in Premium Cartos. Normal?

Hi all,

For the first time I tried refilling some cartos last night. All my cartos had o-rings under the white caps except for the carto for the 555. I disregarded this small detail and refilled it anyway using both the condom and spin techniques and set all aside with condoms on overnight.

This morning I try taste-testing my refills due to the juices being of my own creations. All cartos were leak free except the 555 carto; leakage at both ends.

Is my problem of my own doing or is the missing o-ring an issue?

the premium carts with the soft rubber caps dont have the o ring, its built in.
could be that you put too much in. may want to give it another go and compare.

Um.... the cap on the premie felt no different from the others; no softer or harder. How do I tell if it is built in or not?

I have heard that you can't get a premium cart open without destroying it. I havent had any of these yet so I don't know other than what others have posted. Also if you are using the condom fill method why would you even remove the caps? This is not needed when u refill using the condom method. Simply add juice to the condom and slide the mouthpiece end into the condom and slowly push it into the condom. The juice will go right in through the mouthpiece with the cap in. I keep an eye on the battery hole when doing this and if I see any juice start coming through the hole I stop. It is full. I believe you can do a Taryn spin to add a bit more but I never do. I just remove it from the condom and use it.

Mine don't have the O ring either, and it's the old type of white caps. I think they are suppose to be this way, I didn't get any leakage. (and yes the white caps were destroyed when removed, I use the condom instead)

I have the premium cartos and they don't have the O ring either, but the white caps were probably twice as long as the ones in the regular cartos. They also have a groove around the bottom, which I assume is supposed to do the job of the O-ring.

Really confused as to why the caps are getting destroyed when removed. . .I had no problem.

I took the cap out to boil the carto to use for a coffee flavor. I read in several places that the white caps cannot be boiled.

Mine was not destroyed either; actually, no damage was done to the cap at all.

I guess from all the responses I just simply overfilled. I will try again later tonight after the kiddies have gone to bed so I won't be disturbed.

I'm thinking the caps that are getting destroyed are the hard plastic ones that are glued into the premium cartos. There seems to be a different premium carto with the soft cap that's very thick and takes the place of both the cap & o-ring combined.

That's what's probably causing the confusion.. the different types of premium caps

My caramel moca frap permium carto had a hard cap that was glued in, but no O ring. I did destroy my cap but I chalk that up to inexperiance as that was the first one i took apart. I will say it was a lot harder to get the premium cap off than it was for the standard cartos that I have. Also the premium cap was twice as long as the regulars as stated by dont-blink.

What is the difference between premium and standard? The amount of juice you can add?

I am not sure how they are different (in flavor) other than possibly the manufacturer. I loved the old CMF carto's, but the new "premium" ones do not taste as good and they are harder to refill when I need to. I ended up making my own version of CMF that I found far superior to the new one.

Some of the caps are rubber like, others are like the old ones only they don't come out as easily.

V4L has been out of CMF juice in my nic for a while now, and this is my favorite taste. Could you let me know what you used for your own version? I've tried a few things but not quite getting it. Thanks.

i got some prem watermelon carts they have a soft rubber cap no o ring and is very easy to remove, i believe all carts will get the soft caps over time. at least that is what i have heard
