No proof electronic cigarettes stop addiction

Riccardo Polosa has just informed me only one slide (slide 76) of Roberta Pacifici's power point report mentions e-cigarettes, and it only cites the awareness of Italians about e-cigarettes.

Either the previously posted (by me) report by Roberta Pacifici isn't the one cited in her claims to the news media (which would mean that Pacifici hasn't released her e-cigarette report to the public yet), or she has grossly misrepresented the findings in her power point presentation.

That's correct. Only slide 76 and only with a statistic of awareness: (top graph)
- orange: smokers that have heard about e-cigs, haven't tried them and have no intention of trying them.
- red: smokers that have heard about e-cigs, haven't tried them, but intend to.
- blue: smokers that have heard about e-cigs and have tried them.
- silver: smokers that haven't heard about e-cigs

Notably absent is the statistic for the number of former smokers that achieved their smoking abstinence by switching to an e-cigarette.

a popular Christmas gift that could be a "gateway" drug leading young people
to graduate from the gadget to smoking real cigarettes.

Yea, ecig is a gateway. A gateway for cutting into the profit margin of the patch, gum & the damnable pill they push on people. This aint about protecting people, its about lost profit. If we agree to pay their extortion fee, they will leaves us alone.

There is no way to post a reply to the article - I tried to register to reply but could not and since
I don't read Italian, I cannot tell if there is an error in my registry or not.

So... I wrote a comment on their Facebook Page instead

This kind of crap is just Sooo wrong on sooo many levels... Why must people lie and attempt to enforce
their own opinions and agenda's on the innocent? It is just wrong and it is no wonder so many people get
hurt by this sort of action. It leads people astray and causes them to make wrong decisions.

Fortunately people take these luke-warm alarms with a grain of salt. Medias probably only print it because nothing else exciting to report is going on that day. (Not enough people dying in cars, trains and plane wrecks)

These type of agencies are absolutely brilliant making enemies wherever they go be it the health food, vitamin, chiropractic, homeopathic industries, ad infinitum. Their only friends are other money-hungry handout bureaucrats ... everyone else in opposition to them. Unfortunately lawmakers are too afraid and stupid on top of that and swallow just about any such warnings hook, line and sinker.

And if the FDA serves as an example, who doesn't know they are on BP's payroll?

No such thing as "... for your health ..." ... it's always about nothing other than money.
