Hello everyone. New here, obviously, and have a question. I've been vaping for almost 2 weeks now. Started off with a mini, and after a few days got myself a 501. Much better. Was great for a few days, but now I can barely tatste any of the flavors, neither from a prefilled cart or a blue foam one with juice from DIY or ELP. I get just a hint of flavor and that's it. Still has tons of vapor and the throat hit is still there. All 8 of my flavors do this. Tried 3 different atomizers with the same results. This is driving me nuts. I quit analogs to start vaping, mostly because I loved all the great flavors, now that's gone. The only thing I can think of is I was a marlboro lights smoker, but I'm using 16mg juice, maybe the jump in nicotine is killing my taste?

I was a marlb Ultra lights smoker - and I do 12mg - I doubt its the nic level but it might be (not discounting anything lol people are all different).
It does seem common though for people to go through a 'no taste' or 'everything tastes of ONE thing' stage (or stages, it can re-occur) after quitting smoking. I've had it (and have it again as I type due to a cold), and it seems to be linked to your sense of smell - which is actually what governs your sense of taste.
Nasal saline rinses can help (neti pot etc), as can 'just waiting it out'; I've done both and found the NEti Pot (while being a really odd procedure, its painless) tends to get faster results. Waiting it out works too but its longer; in the interim I just vape something I *can* taste - even if that's a bit harsh or something I don't usually like much. To date I haven't found a 'fast fix' for this.

Thanks for all the responses! everything food wise seems to taste normal(salt seems saltier though). It's just the vaping that seems to be lacking in taste. It happened virtually over night too. Got a shipment in last wednesday of RY4 and some vanilla cream, and was loving them all wednesday, thursday came and could barely taste either one. Seems of all the flavors I have, the only one I can really distinguish is coffee for some reason.

I notice a drop in taste going from 11/12mg to 18mg. Nicotine definitely affects taste but most likely it's a phase. I went through that with Janty juice to where everything started to taste the same and too sweet. I went to Decadent Vapours flavors at Totally Wicked now and many of those flavors aren't so sweet - Habana Reserve, Absinthe, even Black Currant is more like a dry cab than the a sweet berry - currant isn't really that sweet. The Ylang Ylang is flowery but not that sweet. Lotus flower is good but sweeter. Anyway, after changing to them I got my flavors back and now the Janty RY4 and Cappuccino taste just fine. Many times it's what you ate or drank just prior to vaping - anything oily/greasy tends to kill taste and sometime is just awful whereas I find orange juice or pina colada juice (V8) tends to help you ejuice flavors. ymmv

yup.. i just had that also. I had eaten a crap load of sour gummy bears and all the sudden I couldn`t taste any of my flavors anymore. It took a few days to get the full flavor back. So just give it some time and it will eventually come back again. It will happen if you are sick or getting sick also.
Also, if i am vaping while drinking coffee the taste of the juice is lost alot.

You could also try switching from PG liquid to VG liquid (assuming you are currently using PG). As well as other PG sensitivity issues I was unable to tase PG liquids after a few weeks of usage. Once I swapped to VG I was able to taste liquids again.

Do you have any other PG sensitivity symptoms? Sore throat, dry mouth, ulcers etc?

No sore throat, always have had a dry mouth. Stomach feels great. I haven't tried any VG yet. Is this typical of PG based liquids, losing taste after a few days?

No its typical of not smoking AND using a humectant (PG AND VG both are). You do need to consume more lqiuid - even if your mouth is normally on the dry side the VG or PG will dry it further - when you vape, and after also.
Lots of people get the no taste thing for a few days (on n off or just once, it varies), so its common.

Like some others have said, I recommend a neti pot saline rinse for the nose, along with drinking lots of water throughout the day. We actually 'taste' more with our nose, and I've been exhaling through my nose since I started vaping to cash in on all the yummy goodness of flavored smoking!
But by the end of the day, your nasal passages and mouth tend to become coated with PG/VG, and the taste suffers because of this. Solution? Neti pot for the nose, water for the mouth. It can also help to brush more often while vaping to get rid of the PG coating (IMO).
As a side benefit, well there's nothing wrong with drinking more water and brushing my teeth more often! The neti pot is also working miracles for me this allergy season...:)
