Oh yeah, it's like that here too, but I imagine it's even worse in AL! This is one of those times I'm REALLY glad I work from home! When it snows, everyone either drives way too slow (getting stuck on the slightest incline) or way too fast. But I'll worry about DH and DS until I know they're both home safely. DH can leave work as soon as it starts snowing, and we only live 3 miles from his work. But DS has to stay no matter what - can't close a body shop because of bad roads, that's when they get the most business, LOL

I only live 3 miles from work too. the last daytime winter event (freezing rain completely iced the roads for a couple of hours) resulted in everyone going home at the height of it. I waited tilll it ended and it STILL took me 45 minutes to go those 3 miles

When is the snow supposed to start for you?

Well I hope there's no freezing today! The rain is supposed to change to snow around 3 pm. Right now it's 41 degrees. Should stay just above freezing until after midnight. We'll probably still get snow this afternoon, but at least everyone should be home before anything sticks or freezes. How about down there?

Yesterday our forecast for Friday was sunny and 50. Now it's for sunny and 38. Big difference! Golf was in question anyway, but if we get 6 inches of snow, I doubt it will all melt by Saturday.

Good Morning Ladies!! :)

Ive been homeschooling my daughter, its quite an adjustment and we are trying to learn to work together. I work differently than she does. Im a get it done and move on to the next thing person and she is a thinker who needs breaks and stretches it out. I need to work on my patience a bit. My Dad is still here,he may go home Monday. We shall see,it will be a month tomorrow. Im used to having time to myself and I really dont anymore,so another reason I have to adjust. All is good though. Cant complain.

That was amazing! The expressions on the judges' and audience's faces were priceless! And I agree with the judge who said she just wanted to give him a hug!

I think subconsciously I try not to think about stories like his. I have a hard enough time dealing with my emotions involving cats and dogs. But this particularly hit home for me, because one of my nieces was adopted from an orphanage. Although this contestant is Korean and my niece is Chinese, they were both abandoned. If my sister and BIL hadn't adopted their daughter, I hate to think what kind of life she could have had.

Chiming in on the current topic of "Ear Infections". When I was little I got them bad, and always on a family vacation. I missed a trip to Sea World and had to get knocked out with drugs to make a trip home from Bend, OR to Sequim, WA so the trip over Mt Hood wouldn't cause me pain. They have returned over the last few years. The last bad one I was in Santa Barbara. I was diagnosed with infections in both ears and a serious case of bronchitis. I ended up cutting my work trip short and returning home (after a 3-day weekend in Palm Springs). I had to take the train because I didn't know when I would be able to fly again. 27 hour train ride. In coach. Creepy drunk people roam the train at night - but it was a beautiful morning pass over Mt Shasta.
