Good morning ladies. Happy Wednesday!

The general consensus (as much of a consensus as meteorologists seem to be able to come up with, anyway) is 8-10 inches. I knew we hadn't had any significant snow in years, apparently it was 2009. My biggest challenge will be trying to keep my husband from shoveling. That's what he was doing when he had his heart attack in 2005. The best I can do if he's home (and he will be) is to insist we shovel together and do it in lots of small sessions. I think it will be tomorrow before we even start shoveling though (it's not supposed to start until after 4 pm here and then be heavy snow during the night, not ending until tomorrow afternoon). But we're supposed to get ice at the end, so ideally we'll have all but about an inch of snow cleared before it changes. Don't want ice falling on a clean driveway, and also don't want ice falling on more than an inch!

We hardly ever seem to have ambitious neighborhood kids looking to make money shoveling anymore. When my son was 13, he shoveled our neighbor's driveway for free because he knew she lived alone. All he would accept for payment was cookies and hot chocolate :)

Good morning,Catmom:) I do hope you get less snow than that. We have a huge storm coming in Thursday they say. Possibly up to 16 inches. I sure hope not. And it's so cold, only -2 this morning. I'm so sick of the cold.

Good morning,dale:)
Good morning FranC :)

That sounds absolutely horrid to me, I'd go nuts!

Good morning Dale and Fran :)

Yup, his heart attack was scary. I was inside on the computer chatting with my father and sisters on our weekly chat while he was out shoveling. He came in and called out to me, and I left the online chat without saying anything. Several hours later I called my father to tell him what happened and asked him to call my sisters. Now if I leave the chat without saying anything they all start worrying that DH is having another heart attack!

Fran, it's 23 here now, but it's supposed to be about 31 when our snow starts. You know what that means. Wet, heavy snow. The kind that takes down trees and power lines and causes heart attacks! I'd rather have -2 right now.

Good morning Fran, Catmom, and Dale :)

It'll be rain til early/mid afternoon, then the forecast says it'll change to ice pellets/snow.

I have to give a lecture at 11, so i figure that I'll be bolting for home shortly after noon. :)

The forecasts for further east are scary. I'm glad you're planning to take it carefully on the shoveling Catmom.
