Our weather is supposed to deteriorate in a few hours...but I'm home safe this time. They closed before the weather got bad, instead of in the middle of it.

Nothing like having a major winter weather event fiasco fresh in everyone's memory to make them do it right the next time! I hope you still have power. DH just told me the outages in metro Atlanta are now up to 200,000. He doesn't have any coworkers in Birmingham, so no one's keeping updated on your situation ;)

We're good for right now- just about to drop below freezing. The E and NE parts of the state may get more ice, but right now it looks like more of a snow event for us. Which means a better chance of keeping the power one. And, yes, they are planning better for this one.

Glad the storm has moved away from you Dale. The radar looks like you are or will be getting hit pretty hard, Catmom

It's an awfully big storm.

Stay warm Ladies :)

Luckily it was only a few inches and it was a dry snow so we only had to sweep it off the cars. Too bad the 5 inches we got last week was still on the side roads, was a lot of fun getting out of my neighborhood....LOL Thankful that that is all we got!!

Looking forward to this weekend, it is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's here :)

It is a huge storm...

The snow stretched from here (Alabama) to Pennsylvania last night, with thunderstorms all the way to south Florida. What a mess.

We ended up with 4" of snow, but we'll also be in the 40's today. Whew.

How long will it take you to dig out once teh snow stops Catmom?
Are they still predicting up to 16" for you Fran?

Brrr.

CES, I suggested to my husband that we should just let it melt. He didn't go for that, LOL. I really would prefer to just go out there and clear the driveway all at once and be done with it, but I know that's not a good idea for either of us. Also, we could still get ice at the end of this, so we haven't really decided yet how we're going to go about clearing the driveway. I'm pretty sure we need to get out there and do it before the snow changes to ice this afternoon. Better to have ice on a few inches of snow than over a foot, and even worse to have ice on a bare driveway!
