Um, you just can't buy batteries from ebay, especially USED ones, if that is what they were.

You have no idea what their specs are and not only that, you have no idea how old they were.

I'm not trying to lecture or shame you, but it would be really great if you took a look at the chart Eskie posted and replace those batteries (and any others you have from dubious sources, including vape shops) and just started over. Yes, you made an error in your calculations, but well, it doesn't matter if your calculations are correct, if you are essentially using a "black box" of a battery.

If you want to use a mech safely (and I'm sure you do) I would spend some time perusing these two blogs and learning the basics, and then come back here with fresh, authentic batteries, and VERIFY what you think you are doing.

It's great to do it yourself, you SHOULD do it yourself, but in order to TRUST yourself you should VERIFY your findings, it may save you from very costly errors.

I am just glad you are okay, Oh My Goodness! And good luck in finding SAFETY!!

Just did a search for data on these cells and I'm not seeing anything that makes me think they rate more than about 5 amps of safe discharge capacity. And the link you gave indicates used batteries. Considering both of these facts I would not vape these batteries for fear of blowing my face off. Seriously, I don't fear monger, these batteries are just way too much of a risk for me to vape in any hardware.

Mooch publishes a list of tested batteries and their capabilities here. You can buy these at reasonable cost from a variety of good sources like imrbatteries.com, Illumination Supply, and a bunch of others. As has been said already, when you buy from other than known good and trusted battery suppliers you risk getting batts that are not what they say they are, so they could be quite dangerous. Considering how cheap good batteries are, there isn't much to be gained from using unknown sources anyway.

Speaking of batteries, it's been a while since I bought some. I need to snag a few (I lost some I think they got set with my fishing nets lol) and I think I got mine from rtdvapor. Is that still a reputable source?

Yes they are still very reputable.

It says "used batteries" on the ebay link.

Yep... Also notice the tell tale Spot Weld Marks on the Positive Terminals.

The really Isn't any question if these Used Batteries came out of a Power Pack.

Everyone has to learn sometime. The first vapes were mech and took a lot of trial and error to figure out. That is why I use forums like ECF and VU. When I feel something is not right or I realize I "didn't do my homework" or did something really stupid(like throwing a .18 build on a Noisy Cricket) I ask questions on these forums.

...

Right On Edwin.

Better to Ask and be Safe than to try to go it Alone and perhaps have a Very Bad Day.

For $7 I think you got the V1 of the Noisy Cricket. I don't believe it can be run as a parallel. The Noisy Cricket II 25 is able to be run either way the first is setup like a stacked smpl mod folded in half. I wouldn't try running it parallel unless you have researched it and are positive it can be done. IIRC it cannot.

Yes I do admit I was really careless in not asking questions on ECF or VU BEFORE trying the NC. I have been using single battery hybrid mechs for a while and never had a problem. The NC is my first double battery mech and I should have asked questions FIRST.

Try it with around a 1ohm coil. It has enpugh power for it and all that surface area will produce a ton of vapor. You may want a little less resistance but the power level climbs quickly.

Don't own one, but the Noisy Cricket has several versions available. It's important to know which version you own, if it is wired "in series" or "parallel", and what that means to use it safely.

I had one in my cart a couple times but never pulled the trigger. I don't really need that kind of power and with a stacked hybrid mech things have the potential to go South real fast if you make a mistake. I have heard a lot of people unfamiliar with mechanical mods talking about getting one. I have used mechs for years and still shy away from the Noisy Cricket V1.
