I've been recoiling my atomizers for the past year or so. I typically use 27 gauge wire, ribbon, or twisted wire for my mechs. My builds come out to be anywhere from .3-.7 ohms. On my VW devices, I use 30 gauge wire, 10 wraps around a small drill bit. This usually yields a 1.3 ohm build, which is perfect for the Hana.
I like the 30 gauge wire, but find it tedious that I have to recoil my atomizer frequently. I've found that builds with lower gauge (24-26) gauge require less swapping for some reason.

So my question is, for those of you that use lower gauge wire to build mid-ohm coils, how many wraps do you do? And around what size drill bit?

I am aiming for 1.2-1.4 ohms. Any suggestions? I usually build micro coils, but wouldn't mind switching to a macro build.

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:

1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator

The Steam Engine is much more than just a coil calculator. I consider it my "All in One" vaping calculator.

You beat me to it, and yes it is a good calculator even has a juice calculator, but haven't tried it yet.
