Hello DIY Forum!

I just placed an order with inawerashop.com for 100ml of the VPG Pro 6 mg, and 100ml of the peach nectar (I love peach).

This is my first swing at buying something besides "premium" juices. I have enjoyed Nicoticket, njoy's AC, and one of two 5P's flavors but in the interests of knowing what ingredients are going into my e-liquid and spending less than $0.50 or more per ml I decided to try some options along the DIY route.

I have some obstacles though - no room to put in an indoor mini freezer (even a small one). Not enough budget for those pricey outdoor freezers. Kids at home so putting nic base in the normal freezer is not a good option. Hence I am starting slow with a small quantity of pre-mixed VGP (70/30). Order was $36 for the flavoring, nic base, and DHL shipping, and I've spent this much to have one 30ml of fancy 5P's delivered so even going a very pricey route for this first try it's still cheaper than other things I've tried on a whim.

For this first test run I figured I would split up the 100ml and try adding flavoring to half and leaving the other half of the base unflavored. If I mix in 4ml of so of the peach flavoring it should be equivalent to about 8% I believe. I don't know exactly where this would put the VG/PG ratio, but it should just serve to lighten it up and make it that much easier to use in tanks. Since the nic base I'm using is so low to start I don't think I need to be overly concerned with expertly mixing to exact percentages. I'm just interested in getting a little flavor into some of the base to test it out.

Sorry for the long post - just thought I would say hi and give y'all some idea of where I'm at in this little DIY experiment. :)

Thanks Danny - I'll check out your blog.

Pretty quick read :)

This seems like good advice. You're right if I just jump in with 8% swinging blind I might end up wanting to toss out half of the base I ordered. I appreciate the tip. Thanks!

Glad it helped. Here's some more recommended reading to help get you going.

What up scratch? I have kids at home as well and have a liter of NIC in mah freezer. I keep it in glass with childproof caps then put it in a box that is crazy duct taped. It goes top shelf back buried under frozen veggies...

Brother Soignee! Good to see you here my man. Thanks for the tip - my wife sort of suggested the same. My kids are not so young that they don't understand the lecture about never touching dad's funny looking bottles. So far no trips to the ER, so I'm probably overthinking the freezer storage issue. I will definitely take precautions to keep it well sealed and out of easy reach.

Danny my brain just exploded. :)

Seriously thank you very much for sharing the links. I have a feeling the DIY stuff is going to follow a similar path that my vaping in general did. In the beginning I swore I would never build coils because who has the time for that? Now RBA's are all I use and I wrap a pretty mean coil. It will take some time and I'm sure I'll come up with some RTFM questions along the way, but I'm sure I'll get there. Thanks again for the kickstarter.
