Hey ECF,

I just became a member and this is officially my first post. I have been a heavy smoker for 12 years and smoked about 30 cigarettes everyday. I have finally made up my mind and quit smoking.

I have been quietly reading reviews and tips in ECF and decided to switch from my week old Apollo Extreme to 510-t kit.

Here is my question, I literally just got my 510-t kit about 2 hours and I already drained both of the batteries .
They are manually operated batteries.

Are the batteries suppose to get better over time? Should I give them sometime before freaking out and ordering an 510 XL or even a Ego battery?

Cheers...

Hi Mocca, Unfortunately you have at best with a 510t standard size ecig about 220mAh, thats to say without sugarcoating it, you can expect no more than about 2hrs each batt for fairly steady vaping. i own a 510 standard and have the 180mAh batteries and can kill them fresh off the charger within less than an hour. If you vape heavily you may want to consider bypassing the xl batts and go straight to an eGo type battery. The smallest ego batt is 650mAh, giving you at worst about three times more battery life per battery. Remember your apollo is automatic(at least all the ones i have seen) giving you quite a bit less control while giving you just a bit more storage(mAh).

Sounds like you're constantly vaping - have you tried a higher nicotine level eliquid (2.4 or 3.6 %)? I smoked for 50 years and was at about 30/day until a month ago when I converted to PVs. I found that I vape more with the lower level of nicotine juice.

Also, the 510T tanks don't really give a lot of vapor/TH. You might try regular cartomizers or other tanks.

The little batteries in standard kits really aren't set up for heavy use - they're meant to be convenient to carry and easy to use. I wasn't happy with my first several 510/901/KR808D ecig kits, and ended up getting pass-thrus and a mod that uses 18650 batteries. Both of those options allow heavy vaping (especially with tanks).

Hi again Mocca, do you have the standard apollo or the extreme? I looked at their site again and it looks like the extreme is 280mAh and the standard looks an aweful lot like an automatic 510 or maybe a rn4081? both of the latter would be no more than 180mAh i would think. just trying to provide you with a basis of comparison to what you are already accustomed to using. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Thanks Iusedtoanalog. While it is sad, It actually makes a lot of sense even considering the battery size difference.
I will probably get the ego battery or even something bigger. I will use my 510-t during day, as I cannot vape that much at work. Would you suggest any other battery besides eGo the one? Will I be able to use the eGo type battery with my 510 charger, I suppose not..

By the way, here is the visual size comparison for any other noob might be wondering around.

if its a 510 T kit, but manual batteries, they are 180 mah (there are no 510 T manuals as of yet)(so not 220 mah, but 180). If they werent charged before use, they came with 40-80% charge. So if you are heavy smoker/vaper, it makes sense to kill em in 2 hours. But the shorty batts dont last much longer than 1 1/2 to 3 hours each for moderate to heavy vapers, even when fully charged. Mega batteries are better, yes. They average 3-6 hours.
And you can charge ego batts on your charger, but you'll need a 510 to 510 adaptor to do so, and they will take 4-8 hours to charge, depending on 650 to 1000 mah.

Ok now we are getting somwhere.... the apollo you have in the pic is your 280mAh battery, the 510 in the pic is (unless im mal-informed) not one of the new t type batteries with the 220mAh, it looks like a standard 180mAh 510 battery. You can use the usb style 510 charger BUT its gonna charge very slowly on a ego sized battery. The 510 chargers are about 180 mAh of charging while the ego chargers are 420mAh of charging..... As far as recommendations for bigger batteries goes i would piont you toward Good Prophets(my favorite vendor) OR Liberty Flights.... either the eCo form GP or the Riva from LF.... and i would say the usb chargers for their respective batteries would be a good pick in my opinion.

Looks like, I made a bad purchase for my style of use. It is also frustrating that I bought the older model joye 510-t kit.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I appreciate it. Looks like, I am almost looking at a brand new kit for my home vaping. Should I stick with 510 and upgrade to a better battery. Would I be able to get more TH and flavor from other types atomizer/cartomizer?

Ohh look my battery is charged, time to switch back to 510-t again :).

I am not a veteran by any means, but I am guessing you started with partially charged batteries, as TBC stated. My initial kits had about the same capacity, and fully charged lasted me quite a while (I never actually killed one before changing them). I did quickly pick up some Ego batteries (in a kit), just to be sure I didn't run out of power on a work shift. I picked up some rn4081 batts and cartos, on the cheap, from Vaporgod.com as backups, and am going to go with some adapters to continue to use them for short-term use. Good luck in your endeavor, and welcome to the forums.

510's are very common, so you can upgrade easily. The cartomizers you have will fit an eGo manual battery. The eGo batteries come in 650mah to upwards around 1100mah's. A 650 will last me a day of vaping. Yes, you will need to get a new charger for the manual batteries. If you get a bigger better battery you will get more TH just from that. It also depends on your juice and how much VG it has in it.
