Noob, a lil about me and some ?????

So I purchased the deluxe starter kit from Volcano because I heard good reviews on the Blu product, but also heard they had shotty customer service. After a little more research I found that Volcano had the same product (with a different logo) and fantastic customer service, which so far seems to be true sine my order shipped only 2 hours after I placed it. Along with it I ordered 2 extra attys and Halo "Cool" juice since I have been an avid KOOL smoker for 10+ years now. Just wondering what I should expect from either product.

A little bit about my smoking experience, started smoking unsocial at 12 with Newports after about a year I switched to KOOLs and never looked back. I still enjoy smoking but do not enjoy the issues that come with it, so I prowled the net just checking out "help me quit" stuff (even though I really didn't want to...Smoking is the most enjoyable bad habit to ever have) and I found this No.7 disposable e-cig and ordered it, wasn't great but kept me of the real deal for 2 days with very little effort, but it only lasted 2 days. so back to the KOOLs. then since I really did like the overall concept I did some research and landed on volcano with the COOL e-juice.

Having been a pack-a-day smoker for the past 20 years, my crutch of choice has primarily been menthols, usually Marlboro Light 100s. Since receiving my first PV last Tuesday, along with the standard RY-4 cartridges that came along with my kit, I elected to order a 10ml bottle of a flavor called "Polar Mint", which really suits my taste buds quite nicely.

Hope you find one that tickles your fancy, and if you run across a menthol-flavored e-liquid, lemme know how you like it, and I might hafta check it out as well.

I will let you k now how I like the COOL stuff from Halo. While I was on their website I noticed they had 3 maybe 4 menthol juices 1 I know was COOL and I know one was NEWPURE a newport alternative and a couple more 1 called icy mint I think the only downfall is the only have the large bottles so if you do not like it you are stuck because if you are anything like me "I paid for it so I am gonna use it" thats the type I am

I think that the only good reviews for the blu is on their website. If you research here you will find it is not recommended. You may want to consider returning the volcano before opening. Research the d510 and the kr808d1. Both are highly recommend here and both are carried by a lot of vendors.

You don't mention how much you smoke, so it's kind of hard to guess if that e-cig will be enough for you.

I used to smoke 3 packs of Kool Filter Kings per day. My first e-cig was one of those little ones, similar to the one you ordered. It used a cartridge that had a very small reservoir for e-liquid, and it didn't last me very long. Messing around with refilling and changing those things all day is not pleasant, and feels like a part-time job.

I bought the so-called "high" nicotine level e-liquid. It was 24 mg. I needed 36 mg., but didn't realize it for a couple of weeks. This had me vaping constantly, trying to get some relief.

The battery needed to be changed about every hour or so, because of my heavy use. I should have bought at least 2 extra batteries and another charger or two.

I didn't know how to get the best performance out of the equipment. There is more to learning to vape than meets the eye. If you were a heavy smoker, you will definitely want to try the "direct inhale" technique. It takes a little getting used to, a little bit of a learning curve, but it's worth it.

All of these factors led to a lot of frustration and irritation in the beginning. Luckily, I immediately went from 3 packs per day to about 1 pack. That's a lot of cash freed up in the ol' budget to experiment on different things.

Hi totalchaos!

Congrats on taking the plunge into vaping I was able to totally quit a life-long 1.5+ pack a day habit the day I started with my e-cig. Much like you, I started smoking at 12 and Newport Light 100's was what I've always smoked.

I use Halo's e-liquid. To me, it's the best e-juice I've tried and I can't imagine finding something I like better. I have all three of Halo's menthol flavors and I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of them. They are very subtle and it's hard to get tired of the way they taste and vape.

Halo's "Cool" isn't going to taste anything like your analog "Kools", but it's definitely a very smooth and easy to vape menthol. I'm still trying to decide which of the three I like the best and I find myself going back and forth between them all.

Try some "flavors" as well for a change in between what you end up deciding to be your "go to" e-juice. A lot of suppliers sell 3ml sample sized bottles and it's a good way to experiment with different liquids without spending tons of money.

Also, if you decide you don't like the taste of an e-liquid, put it aside for a week or so and try it again. Although it's only been a bit over 2 weeks for me, I can taste and experience things so much differently as my buds recover

I totally agree with what you said - smoking was the most enjoyable bad habit I like vaping better than I ever liked smoking! That's something I never thought I say, but it's true!

Welcome, totalchaos! I think you made a very good choice with the Titan 510. I use them myself, and have ordered bunches of attys and batts from TW when they had sales. (Looks like your avator is rather preminatory, given the TW logo ) There is a learning curve with the 510, but it is a model that is good initially, but even better with a little cart tinkering...easy stuff. There is a boat load of info and support for all things 510. Check out the Model Specific forum for the Joye 510 subforum...more info than you can absorb. Having the other models for backup is a good call, but I predict you will be a full-time 510 user for a while. Lots of vendors sell 510s, and they are almost all virtually interchangeable parts. Have fun!

The 901 has an enormous following here. I've not tried it, but it supposedly has a little better flavor than the 510, but the vapor production is generally less. I think the batts last longer than the regular 510s.

I guess I figured you ordered your Titan 510 from TW. Perhaps others are carrying it, but it is a rebranded Joye 510, which I had thought only TW sold. Could be wrong. Anyway, that's why I mentioned the TW devil thing, like your avator.

I love my 901, but its all I ever vaped. For me personally I get plenty of vapor. I've never smoked another analog since I started vaping and I used to smoke at least 2 packs a day of strong Senecas. Altogether I smoked for about 30 years.
