Hello Steve and welcome! I am sure that everyone will be giving you some great advice. I am a newbie too. This sight has helped me a lot! There is some crazy new lingo that will throw you for a loop at first. If you don't understand just ask. Also, if someone says something like PG/VG you will see that it is underlined. You can click your mouse on it to get a definition of what the heck they are saying.

I am not a tinkerer and the build your own things are way over my head. I just wanted something powerful and easy. My friend insisted I get the GoGo from Cig Easy and I am glad I did. The starter kit was 60.00 and had everything I needed to get started. It comes with one bottle of juice and they even threw in a second bottle for free.

Good luck and enjoy!

Hello and Welcome
Yes there is a lot to choose from. This forum is a great source of info from friendly people who honestly want to help You in any way they can. If there is a local vape shop in Your area that might also be a good thing to look into. As that would be one on one and You can actually see in person what the different devices are.
there are a lot of factors involved in what would be a good starter kit for each individual.

Feel free to ask any and all questions You may have.

You can search for a Vape Shop HERE

Welcome once you get 5 posts you can check out all the forums and post anywhere. Just respond to posts- you don't have to start a new thread. This really works so hang in there and start reading. Takes a bit of time to pick up all the lingo but you will be there in no time. Let us know a bit about yourself, how much and what type of cigs you smoke, and if you work or are retired. It makes it easier to provide suggestions.

Welcome fellow Minnesotan! The tax hike was the final push for me too. I'm still new and still learning but I'm using an ego c twist battery with clearomizers and have been very happy with it.
As far as juice goes I'm still trying everything I can find that sounds interesting (I'm currently puffing on blueberry pancake from Mountain Oak. Weird, I know, but it's actually really good). If you search for favorite juice companies you'll get some good ideas for where to buy online.
Rumor had it there are some interesting cape shops opening in the cities but so far I've only bought online.
Good luck! ECF is a really valuable resource!

hello and welcome :)

there are plenty of people here who are willing to point you in the right direction but obviously vaping is a personal choice.

So we will need more info.

Are you ready to step away from the cigarette-look-a-likes? If so this opens your choices up a lot...if you aren't then there are still options.

Next: if only using cig-a-likes are you only wanting to buy pre-filled or are you willing to refill your cartomizers?
part b: if willing to get away from cig-a-likes same question
part c: if willing to get away from cig-a-likes there are different types of juice delivery systems available :)

It is all overwhelming at first but it starts getting easier and it starts making more sense.

I'm still new myself but best advice I can give is: keep in mind vaping is all personal preference and there is no bad choices...what you decide is what you will be living with and using ;)

so that aside my best advice that was given to me and is currently my only pv is to take the flying leap save yourself wasted money from buying the cigarette-look-alikes and go for a better battery...
1) get you a variable voltage spinner
you can still use cartomizers (that come with the cig-a-likes) or try other things, myself purchased an evod and a vivi nova to figure out which one I liked best.
The issue with anything other than cartomizers if you use tough juices it will melt the plastic lmfao so be careful or you can get a metal cover for the vivi nova.

feel free to ask question, no question is stupid, just mis/under informed.

Take a look at this kit before you go to the shop. This is everything you will need - 2 batteries, charger with wall adapter, clearomizer (which is just one type of topper (juice holder) you can get). You don't need this exact kit, but it gives you an idea of what you'll need at a minimum and what is a reasonable cost.

Battery recommendations for starters: ego type battery since most toppers are compatible. 1000 to 1300 mah are the biggest sizes and will last all day. Twist or Spinner are variable voltage that can be turned up or down as desired.

And you'll need juice - hopefully the shop will let you test to find a flavor you like.

so the basics of what I have learned so far :)

the higher the mAh of a battery the longer life it has
there are top and bottom coils for juice delivery systems (to each their own)
when possibly go with glass or metal juice delivery systems to help prevent possible chemical reactions with certain juices

so far the best starter "kit" I've seen suggested and 95% everyone enjoys it is a variable voltage spinner (or a vv twist...same thing but the spinner is a little easier to read to turn the knob on)

and using an ego type batter such as the twist or spinner gives you all kinds of options when it comes to juice delivery systems because it has the 510 connection (the cig-a-like) and the ego connection which there are tons of delivery systems that fit this as well

while going to your local shop is a great idea to get a hands on approach, it is not always cost effective...but it sure is nice to be able to see and hold what you will be buying...
for me that's not an option as the closest shop is over an hour away

there are tons of shops online and fairly decent prices
atm if you don't mind ordering from china and waiting and waiting and waiting lmfao look up fasttech the have some name brand items but mostly knockoffs for dirt cheap, no tax, no shipping and handling fees....you can get a lot of bang for your buck and try out a lot of different things until you find what works best for you.

Again, welcome and best of luck in your new hopefully wonderful adventure with vaping
