Got my Ego-T today and was pretty impressed with the amount of vapor it gave off.
The novelty kind of wore off, and hours later I can barely smoke this thing.
I sowewhat got rid of the burnt primer-melted plastic-dusty old burning sock taste, but it seems that I get a better throat hit with my old 510.
I'm using the same brand and strength juice that I usually vape.
In the 510 it tastes normal, in the Ego-T it tastes pretty much awful.
I tried a different brand of juice in a new tank and same story. Very slight throat hit with a tinge of burned dusty plastic taste.
I cleaned off the primer like I do whith all my new atties, and the thing is fully charged. What am I doing wrong?

damn, this the 4th "problem with a Ego T" thread that I have read today : p ....

Well since you spoke of a "plasticy burnt taste" I will suggest the following .... remove your Tank and direct drip about 2 drops of juice on the atty, and also place one drop on the bottom of the silicone tank cap before you insert it back into the atty ... In my experience when the bottom of the tank cap sits dry on top of that metal plate inside the atty, it produces a burned plastic taste.... placing a drop of juice on the bottom of the cap is what I do to prevent the plastic taste.

Try it will a fresh tank and see what happens ... if you still have a problem with a burned taste in general, then your juice may not be feeding well for good wicking.

I got an eGo-C which uses the type A eGo-T tanks and haven't had a problem with the hard plastic caps. I got a bunch of the soft plastic (silicon?) and those I get a burnt taste. Usually just give them a full twist while still on the attie and that stops it. I think the needle part of the attie isn't getting pushed in to the tank all the way and needs the twist to fix that.

The only thing you did wrong was buying the EGO-T. Get rid of it. Do a little research and get something better ;)

It's better now. The burnt plastic spoon taste is gone.
I made a bigger hole in the silicone cap and that seemed to help.
A bit dissapointing that I'm not getting a strong throat hit, but super impressed with he batteries. I'm on my first battery since yesterday morning, and there are still 3 bars left.
I think the tank system is not for me. I'll just get different atties or something. The non tank Ego that my friend has is fine. So it's def the tank that's not agreeing with me.
Still glad that I tried it, it was an inexpensive way to see what I like :D

The eGo-C is the best of the series but isn't all that different really. They all (tanks) seem to suck.

Boge 510LR Cartomizers on an Ego battery is one of the best portable vapes available in my opinion. Almost as good as when I drip but without the hassle.

That's what I've found out and recommend.

Holly crap, looking up cartomizers. There are so many, don't even know which ones I can use, which ones I can't.
Shoulda just stuck with my 510 with LR atties and longer batteries.
I have a feeling now I'll be buying all kinds of different crap:)
I have a package arriving at least once a week as it is. My neighbours are starting to look at me funny ha ha.
Oh well, even a light throat hit with the Ego-T is still better than smoking

510 won't work with LR attys and cartos. You need at least 450mAh to run low ohms. Ego batts are perfect.

Not sure why people don't like the tanks. They are working great on my eGo-C and my SMK is pretty good. I only say that because the draw got a bit stiff on the atties but other then that...

Cartos I find horrible. All I ever seem to get is a gurgle sound and very little vapor. Even if I let someone else fill it they just don't do it for me.

Wrong cartos, or filling them too much. Got more TH, vapour and satisfaction from a 1.7 smoktech than I ever got from a properly wicking eGo-T LR.

Gurgle sound says they're waaaay too wet. Blow out from the drip end into a napkin til no more juice comes out.

I've come to the conclusion that everything on the market today is short lived. Nothing seems to last even 2 weeks without either flooding, leaking or developing a burnt taste. All of these systems seem to vapourize liquid onto a tiny metal coil. Over time the coil & wick become saturated with a crystalized substance - I'm guessing a sugar type goo. The heating of the tiny coil that turns liquid into vapour was the big breakthrough & reason we have e-cigs.

The easiest and cheapest system seems to be simple dripping with multiple attys on rotation. I boil them in water every week to 10 days to bring back taste. Some will steam or burn dry. It seems to be the best for an individual like me is the less of the two evils. I am also using the Smok eGo dual coil cartos & eGo-C tanks for outside use. The carto's last for 3 to 5 days. Unlike the eGo-T, the eGo-c doesnt leak but there can be taste issues.

I'd like to see an atty that comes apart from the base, has a separate detachable coil & detachable catch plate directly on top of the coil, so no liquid ever hits the coil directly. The coil would heat up the plate. A simple clean of the plate every week or so with a tooth brush or something of that nature. Something simple everyone could do. I don't want to build attys with wire & wrap coils - that's just insane! Just an idea, not sure if it would ever work.

Another technology would involve tiny copper tubing in a coil like the technology used in a coffee maker but I think NASA would even have problems developing this.

I think we need to take a step backwards & think about the big picture, a few years back, there was just the 510s etc with filter size cartos. They were made to throw away after 1 use. Recycling wasn't part of the original picture. We're in an age where recycling matters & we want to maximize the use of these items. Things like tanks & clearomizers were introduced. They solved the recycling issue but qc didn't address the flaws that would be with reusing a coil or leaving a wick saturated for weeks.

Hopefully we'll see another breakthrough in technology sometime soon. I like things that work all the time. Intermittently doesn't cut it. I hope the boys in China read this.

I've tried the blowing out of extra liquid. Problem with that is I keep blowing and liquid keeps coming out until the filler is dry. This happens with every (all 3 of them) cartos I've tried.

Either way I'm happy with what I've got. So far I'm still on my first attomizer for my ego-c and haven't and it's still going strong. I do blow it out once a day and wipe any excess juice from in side the cone but that's all I do. I'll keep trying other things but this is the best so far for me.
