Hello all,
I would say hello fellow vapers but I am not yet a vaper. I am 21 years old and have been smoking cigs on and off for about 5 years. The most recent time I put em down I didnt touch them for close to 2 years. But i recently picked them back up and I am damn of them and I wanna try an ecig! I have never tried one or know anyone that has either. So at first I was looking at the Blu but after some investigating it sounds like it doesnt keep up to speed with all the hype and I saw mostly bad reviews. However I really liked how you can charge them just by dropping them in the case but the batteries apparently dont work so NEXT! Looked into a few more like GreenSmoke, Volcano, and few others until I found V2. I have found no bad press or reviews yet (granted this is an idea from yesterday so i really am a total noob with a couple hours of surfing the net worth of experience) and the price is fair. And since most of my google'ing took me here i figured I would join and hear any last requests.. Im looking at the standard kit Electronic Cigarette Kits | Standard Kit | V2 Cigs that comes with 2 batteries and 10 cartridges. My main and realest concern is reliability. It sounds like there are so many duds out there, I just dont want the hassle of getting a garbage one and having to return and find a new one. So should I take the plunge on this one? If so, what are the best flavors? I was thinking the Red and Peppermint? Wow, way longer than I thought this was gonna be but; Anyway thanks in advance and Im looking forward to officially joinging the vaping community :toast:

For someone starting out I generally suggest an eGo-C kit. The batteries come in different mah ratings that you can choose from. The higher mah ratings will laster longer than the lower ones and the higher mahs are also a little bigger. A very rough average would be 1 hour vape time for every 100mahs.

If you insist on having something that looks like a real cig, then take a look at the 'Smokeless Image' Volts. Imo, they are the best quality cig-a-likes out.

Hi Godzirra. Welcome to the ECF. First let me say that I actually laughed thouroughly out loud when I read your screen name, so good job there.
On to your questions at hand. So there is a whole plethora of products available and you have chosen a kr808 d1 based unit in your link. The kit you have selected can be had at a more reasonable price and with a great customer service oriented vendor. Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette These guys are well respected and have the most raved about service I can think of. They offer a similar kit to the one you have selected for about $45, and for a little less than the price of the v2 you can get a Personal Charging Case(PCC) in addition to the basic starter kit.

What ever kit you decide on you will want to be certain to get some extra cartomizers(sometimes calles cartridges or filter tips) either pre filled with liquid(easiest option but most expensive) or a few bottles of liquid to fill empty units, this requires a little more effort but it takes virtually no time to become profficient at it. It is the way you will eventually want to go because the end cost of use with the prefilled units is much more than filling your own. This also expands your possibilities in terms of available flavor options.

The Volt kit would be my advice if you must have a slim sized unit. It is a great performing unit and a very customer focused vendor. For an average vaper the volt 78mm option should be good for about three to four hours of use time. the rule of thumb is 100mAh is roughly equal to 1hour of vape time.

If you are a heavy user you may want to skip the slim batteries all together but I will reserve that discussion until i have you blessing to do so..... Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Haha, thanks, it just came to me. I usually come up with pretty weak ones but I like this one too

Ahh, Id been seeing alot of that and wondering what it was

And Im not a real heavy smoker but I like the idea of long battery life. And when you say slim sized do you mean the ones that look like a cigarette? If so, yes I would prefer those. What mAh is the v2 vs. the others?

I have been a v2 smoker for 17 days, and i can tell you, they are not very good. They will do in a pinch, but the flavor in the reds is horrible, the menthol barely has any menthol in them. You have to charge the batteries 2-3 times a day each if you are a pack a day smoker. Its just not worth it. Take these guys advice on here, dont buy the 2 piece ecigs they are sub par. Get yourself an ego-c starter kit, or a couple of ego twist batteries.

A few things I have found extremely helpful. pbusardo and grimm green reviews on youtube. Search google for vaping ohm and volts for the ohm-volt good vape chart. That will tell you what kind of cartomizer/atomizer ohm you should be running on your battery. Best thing you can do man, is take a couple weeks to really deeply research all available options. I have bought 2 starter 2 piece ecigs and wasted about 160 dollars on the two of them. And am now switching over to ego twist with 3 ohm cartomizers.

Hope this helps. Good luck quitting the cigs.

The v2 list that they are 150mAh(short) 250mAh(standard) and 380mAh(long) here Batteries for Electronic Cigarettes at V2 Cigs

so In the menu selection for the Smokeless products they have the option to upgrade from the standard(which is standard for both companies as far as i can tell) to the long batt for $1 when you choose the options in a kit. They also offer the option to have a manual button rather than just the automatic. I would advise the manual button because it will allow you much more control over the amount of warmth and flavor. The automatics are a nice replica for smoking but I have tried many autos and do prefer the manual every time.

If you want someting more like a regular cig try the regular joyetech 510.

Take it from somone who has owned and vaped Many 510 slim products. They are not as nice a vape as the 808, nor does the batteries last as long, first hand size for size dollar for dollar the 808 is a better product. If you must have a slim batt, then the 808 is where you should look.

Thanks guys.. As new as i am to this I just dont think I need that fancy that of one.. that varible voltage and all that, I have no idea about. Keep it simple and reliable is what im aiming for. And not being a pack a day smoker, having two charged that last a combined 6 hours or so I think should be plenty.

Hope this helps. Good luck quitting the cigs.
Thanks, so far so good!

got a question-- Do alot of these have over charge features on the batteries? do they shut off on their own or do you have to keep an eye on it? Ive had problems with other electronics in that area

You have to keep your eye on them. They don't make batteries that stop charging when full.

The only avenue to this feature would be to use a device that takes an IMR or a Protected Li-Ion battery that could be recharged in a battery charger with 'trickle charge'. Even then, you should keep an eye on it because these batteries can be dangerous under the wrong conditions.

And aside from price are there any real difference in the V2 and the Volt?

The smokeless image is a 320mah battery that outputs a regulated 3.6v

The V2 is a 250mah battery that outputs unregulated 4.2v.

What does this mean?
The mah rating reflects battery capacity. The higher the rating, the higher the battery capacity.
The volts is the amount of power the battery delivers to your cartomizer to power it. The more volts you send to your cartomizer, the bigger the hit will be. More vapor, more throat hit.

The more power a battery puts out is the faster it drains the battery. As you can see, the V2 uses a higher output voltage on a smaller capacity battery so the the vape-time you will get from the V2 will be substantially less.

Also, the battery on the Smokeless Image is 'Regulated' where the V2 is unregulated. This means that you will get a consistant 3.6v from the the SI from the time you take the battery off the charger until the battery runs dead. On the V2 the quality of vape will diminish with the power left in the battery. It will start off at 4.2v and dwindle its way down to about 3.4v until its dead.

I hope I helped you and didn't confuse you!

I can tell you that the v2 hit very well when fully charged, but the flavors to me are sub par, the reds are dry, and the menthol just barely minty. But them being unregulated as he said is a very big issue. It doesnt sustain good hits for very long. You may get good hits equal to about 3 cigs.

No, that makes perfect sense.. i much rather just have it shut off than slowly tease me with weak hits

I guess Im going to order a Volt tomorrow. Im glad I joined and talked to you guys before i ordered the v2... Test that out for a while and im already interested in the x2 batteries ;)

As far as flavors go.... Ive smoked menthols before, but lately its been Marlboro Lights or Camel lights. Ive smoked out of hookahs before and always enjoyed trying random fruitty flavors should i explore with the same enthusiasm or are there flavors i should avoid? what are you guys' favorites from SI?

I will add to what nebulas has already said, and add that V2 has TERRIBLE customer service. SmokelessImage, on the other hand, has a stellar track record.

For a pain-free vaping experience, go with the Volt.

Also as far as the hits on the v2 18mg, I used to smoke ff marlboro reds, and this is barely keeping me from buying some right now, barely. I suggest if you want to step down your nicotine get 12mg, but if you want to sustain your probably better off getting 18mg to make sure you dont go back to regular smokes. Even at 4.2 volts with 18mg on a fresh battery I find myself taking really long draws to get a nice throat hit off the v2.

Yeah, don't forget to pick up an extra pack of cartos or two. They sell them prefilled and blank. Just starting out I would test their flavors from buying the prefilled. I have only tried two of their flavors, RY4 and Cowboy. I can recommend their RY4! It is very, very good! The Cowboy is supposed to mimic a Marlboro but unfortunately, your not ever going to find a flavor that tastes like a real smoke. Its a decent flavor it just doesn't have any WOW factor to it. You might enjoy it.

GL and don't be a stranger around here!

Happy Vaping!
