Noob question regarding RBA builds.

2.5 id is the sweet spot and it still is going to be a little crammed when you add that top cap so make sure you do a test fire with a wet wick and the top cap on to ensure no shorts or hot spots prior to putting the whole tank back together or your throat will be in for a world of hurt....99% of people think they are getting a burnt hit when in fact its a hots spot burning the cotton due to their build shorting on the rba. so always test it at all phases of the build.

What gauge wire were you using?

A 28ga 3mm Coil in my Subtank Mini's is my standard set-up.

New question.. just got my coil master kit, how does the diameter of the coil affect the vape? I'm using 28/32 twisted clapton wires. (was a gift from my wife)

the thicker the size of the wire you are using, the bigger you will want your coil ID diameter.

for 28/32 you should probably use 3mm or higher, no smaller.

with very fine wire, if you try to wrap a 3mm coil then try to wick it with cotton, you won't get enough cotton in there without damaging the coil; the cotton ends up being too flimsy and when wet it sinks down, and the top of the coil becomes like a hotspot.

BTW - The Limitations of ID Size for Single Coil RTA's is one of the main reasons that people find something like this RTA so attractive...

Yessir... As long as it is the same coil you dont have to worry about shorts...its just as if the coil was touching itself as a micro coil. Its all one contained system. As long as a coil has the same positive and negative lead it can touch itself however.
