Just started with my Tobeco Velocity clone and I'm wanting to try a single coil build. With the Velocity, the posts are on opposite edges of the tank with no center post. With the single coil, should I bring my wicking under the coil and into the opposite side of the posts or should I just leave that side of the deck empty?

Check out this thread for ideas. Post pictures of your working wick and coil setup | Page 347 | E-Cigarette Forum

I would suggest you leave the wick tails on the side with the coil, no need to bring them over really. Sometimes too much wicking can work against you, such that the longer tail holds liquid that doesn't easily flow to the coil. I'd just leave the tails so they touch the deck on the same side. Everyone has a little difference in their wicking technique. I myself I leave really short tails that sometimes barely reach the deck and drip more often in return. Is this your first building?

I run my Derringers and Samurai Bonsai with a single coil and they work just fine that way. I used to put wick under the coil and let the other side go over to the other side of the deck, but I found it wasted more juice because that back end tail just kept it there and it never made it to the coil, and Im already sucking up enough of it as is. Now I just take one side and put some under the coil, the other side just goes down to the deck and gets clipped there. Just changed em all to this a few days ago after I saw a pic of one like it in the 'What are you sporting today' thread over in the mech forum and its been an improvement as far as efficient wicking goes.

I have a couple 2 post atty's and when I go single coil i find it best to run it between the posts centered in the atty. This method gives you the most space to work with and easy wicking.

On a velocity, you have fixed airflow running to the middle of the build deck as well, so why not try it out this way?
