Hello community!

Pretty new to the whole e-cig world and thought where best to start than a forum like this. I've been smoke free since about March of this year, but to do so I started dipping. Welp, I quit smoking, but I'm getting tired of dipping now also...it's just as gross and it's starting to hurt my gums.

So I did some research and went with a Firelight Fusion kit, got a cpl batteries and a pack of cartos with a 50ml bottle of juice. It will be here hopefully on Tues or Wed (i cannot wait!) and I'll officially be part of the vape world.

There's so many different types of everything out there it's kinda hard to wrap my head around it all but I'm sure everyone starts like that right? The Fusion is a kr808 series with an automatic battery, and I've been reading a lot about how auto batteries have a chance to be leaked on and ruined. Anyone have opinions on if I should look into different gear or techniques to help myself or should I just wait to get it and play around?

Welcome to the forums cunningStunts. Usually the auto batterys have an air hole so when sucking the battery activates. That is where the fluid will go and short out the circuitry. The manual batterys have a button on the side and the battery is sealed where the carto/clearo is attached. My opinion is to get a manual for the drip tips, clearos, and tanks. Keep the prefilled cartos for the automatics.

Will I just have to be careful refilling the cartos when they do start running low on juice? The two batteries that came in my kit are both autos and I would much rather refill the cartos rather than buying prefilled ones.

How much generally would I be looking at for buying a decent manual battery?
Also, do I NEED drip tips for the manuals or can I use the cartos I am getting from the Firelight kit?

edit- I'm reading all sorts of stuff now so forgive me if I'm asking questions that are already answered. :x Just trying to get opinions from the more experienced. :) Thanks for the warm welcomes and answers as well!!

You can refill the cartos, just don't refill with the batterys attached. Also keep a close eye on the cartos, eventually they will start leaking after so many uses.

For a decent manual battery, there are alot of factors involved. It is your choice. There is cigarette size batterys. There are bigger batterys, variable voltage. Members on here will help you with a good battery. There is a lot of vendors to choose from.
As for drip tip. You don't need drip tips. You can use the cartos on the manual and the automatic.
You need to look up drip tip to see what they are. (Too long for me to explain)

That is ok for asking questions. Sometimes its easier to ask than to do a search!!!!!!!

As of right now I'm liking the cigarette sized ones, the 808 battery type I guess? Grantid I don't even HAVE mine yet, it's just what is more appealing to me at the moment. A bigger one would be nice to have just for home use but I'm mainly going to be using it while out at work or the bar or something.

Welcome to the forum! I started with a cigalike, but I wish I had joined the forum first. I didn't like the short time the batteries lasted before they needed a recharge. After joining, I got so many suggestions, it made my head spin, but I'm better off for knowing there is a lot of stuff out there, and everything from bottom end cheap, to top end expensive, but quality made.

I would up with a eGo Twist 1000 mAh and a Vivi Miini Nova. The Twist will last me about 8 or 9 hours before a recharge, and the Mini is OK. However, There are a lot pf people who say the Kranger T3 top coil or T4 bottom coil is better. I'm going to have to get one and see.

I'm going to be a guinea pig and try out the new Joyetech eVic. I normally wouldn't do that until I know the newest gadget is worth the price, but will be getting it at a fraction of the retail price, so I will be a tester some of us before they waste their money. The best bet is to not buy anything that is new because in a very short period of time, they will come out with the version 2, or 3.

My thoughts are unless you want it to look like a cigarette, get a Twist, or a Spinner. Both are variable volt which gives you more lee way to try out different tanks and cartomizers with different OHM's. You will also find better juice than is supplied with those pre-filled carto's.

I've been looking around at a bunch of posts here on the forums and have been seeing a lot of people use the Egos. I'm having a little trouble finding kits for the Twists but I haven't put much time into looking.

If I were to go for an ego should I most definitely go with a variable voltage one?

Also, its awesome seeing how many people here are right around Richmond, that's great!

Welcome and congratulations on quitting smoking! I think you will really enjoy vaping. I have also had a hard time finding ego twist kits ... I have been hoping that will be my final upgrade, but somehow I doubt it. I did buy one of the ego passthrough USB thingy's so now I know I want to upgrade o a variable voltage device. I am using Riva manual batteries and a vivi nova which I really like except for the fact that it doesn't fit we'll in my lanyard...

Even if you switch styles later on, you can buy adapters so that your parts are interchangeable. Welcome

.

Hey fellow dip quiter! I have been dipping or chewing since the 3rd grade and am on the journey to quit. I stopped smoking about 10 years ago but never quit the dip. My kit is in the mail also should be here in a couple of days. I ordered 18mg and 24mg juices since dip is supposed to have more nic than cigs. I ordered two ego 1100 manual batteries and a couple of clearomizers and a charger to get started. I have borrowed a safe cig from a friend at work and I am down to about 2 lips of dip a day. I was about a can a day dipper. I have not bought any dip for this week I hear the best way to stop is don't buy more LOL! Good luck!

Another dipper! Yeah the smoking wasn't hard to quit because I had the dip to rely on, because it definitely does have more nicotine than cigs, IMO. I was trying to just stop dipping but the nic withdraw was annoying, a few friends of mine use e-cigs but theyre not efficianados about it. I tried their vapes and felt it was fufilling my craving very well, so I started researching and now here I am!

As I said, I CANNOT WAIT to get my kit on Wed (at the latest) so I can start vaping...im very excited! It's also good to hear it's working for your dipping habit as well, congrats!

What do you dip? I have been using skoal snus smooth mint for about a year so I don't have the spitting addiction to overcome just the nicotine. I felt like there was nothing out there to help me stop dipping. A lady at work said her husband had stopped by trying her ecigs so she gave me a battery and a few menthol cartos to try over the Thanksgiving weekend to see if it helped. Wow did it ever help. I would put a dip in right after breakfast and keep it in until Lunch with a couple of refreshers in between then more in the lip til supper and then til I went to bed.
