Hey everyone. First off my names Richard. I've been vaping for roughly 5 months.

I started off with a vision spinner 2, and an aero tank that i eventually drilled out a hair.

But like most people I've read about on here, that wasn't the end. Lol

As of right now i have two mods, a Fuhattan and a Stingray.

As for the Rda's ( not sure of the difference between a Rda and a Rba ) I have a monster cloud, a dark horse, a deringer, and two others that i can't remember the name of currently.

I've been looking at box mods the last few days and running through the custom builds on here looking for ideas.

My question is, after this long post, has anyone used the board and parts from a vision spinner 2 ( my old one finally bit the bullet ) to build a box mod?
I won't be using the battery from the vision, i have three 18650 batteries so in covered there.

What parts should i be able to use from the vision?
From what I've read the board in the vision is only good for 1.2 ohms and up, and I've been running .8 to .06 dual coils on my different attys, so i know the board is out without some major rewiring. Should i be able to use everything else?

I know its a long post and i apologize for that. Any info and help will be wecomed and appreciated

Howdy, welcome to the ECF!

I don't think anyone has used the board from a Spinner to produce a box mod, I really don't see why you'd bother considering there are much better chips out there (see the OKL-T20). Seems like a ton more trouble than it's worth, if it's even possible (and I'm doubtful that it is). Additionally, you wouldn't be able to use the batteries you currently have in any box, because they're not paired.

Batteries that are being used in series (or parallel) need to be paired. They should have been purchased at the same time, have the same charge cycles, and should ONLY be used in the devices that use batteries in series. For example, for my Hammond-style box mod I have 2 pairs of batteries that I use. I always alternate the batteries (ie: before a charge I swap 1 and 2's positions, or 3 and 4's positions. I never swap 1 with 4 or 2 with 3, etc. The pairs are "married" and I'm not a fan of cuckolding.)

.8 to .06

You mean .6, right?

Welcome Richard.

I'm digging wanting to rebuild and use what you have but Nyiddle summed it up from the chip to the batteries. You could trial and error it, but ask yourself if it's worth your time, money and safety.

Edited after Nyiddle brought up the most important issue. Safety.

'm not Rdy for a crazy stupid build

No. 06 isn't a typo.

You realize, of course, most DMM's and ohm readers can't read lower than .1 ohm accurately, right? .06 ohms with a 4.2V battery is demanding 70A out of a battery which exceeds ANY discharge rating of any 18650. I'm not trying to bash, but you do realize that voltage drop from your mod is likely the only thing preventing your battery from discharging, right? What you're doing is extremely unsafe.

Which is why when I was building and tweaking that. 06 I took it off the rda after it got so hot the battery nearly burnt me when I pulled it out of the mod.

So yes I've built super low sub ohm coils. Do I run them at all? Nope. Every setup I've run has been a dual setup. So I could run one of the coils from the. 06 dual setup and be safe ( figuratively) at a 0.12 single coil.

I know enough that I'd nvr run a low sub ohm coil as an all day, back to back vape. The few ( very few ) times I do hit one of my sub ohms is a one hit cloud then I set it down.
