I have been vaping for 10 days and now I want to build my own pv:2cool:. My questions will be more focused on battery sizes and best performance. So is there a place or does any one know the actual sizes of the batterys ( not in mm but inch )? I have a friend who owns a machine shop and he has agreed to mill me a block of aluminum to my specs but I am so unsure of what batterys I should order to make my mod. I have a maxi rough stack v2 now with some 18350's and some 123a's. They work good but I was curious if there was a more slender and shorter battery that I can use 2 of that will give me the longest and most compact size with minimal performance drop. I am torn between making it vv or regular pv. Also read about 5v vaping any pros or cons to the afore mentioned. Any help or recommendations would be most appreciated and welcomed.

The first two numbers are the diameter and the last numbers is the length in mm. For instance a 18350 is 18mm dia and 350 mm length. Tolerances can vary between brands but it's a good guide. Protection circuitry can also play a min role in the length.

If you're going to the effort to have a tube machined I'd recommend going vv. It's not that difficult and then you have everything covered. As said above lots of information in the modders forum.

You're ambitious. You've seen the modders forum on here right? There's a lot of good info in there, if you look. Be sure to check out the battery mods as well. To get the size of batteries in inches just plug the mm into your calculator and divide by 25.4. The sizes are out there on the web.

I'm not crazy about a fixed 5V but, I do like VV.

That's so awesome that you want to build a mod....I may get there someday (I do own a soldering iron which may just come in handy).

Just a hunch, but you'll probably get much more useful and informative feedback over on the modders forum (see link above..I'm feeling lazy) rather than here in the new members forum.

I like your interest and curiuos what you come up with but a little advice...stay away from wood mods. That entails an additional skill set.
Good luck

Well really on batteries the discussion centers around three things protection (These things can explode), MAH, and fall off. Fall off is when the battery is getting low and the voltage starts to fall off. After that the only real consideration is size. How big do you want the box to be. There are others but, the two most popular batteries are the 14500s and the 18650s. Those that want a small box more than they want MAHs use 14500s. Those that want the MAHs more use 18650s. The batteries are a power source and the power is the same from all of them.

The volt/ohm combination is as subjective as juice flavor. There's a best for you but, there's no best.
