Hi All,

My name is Mike. I am 54, smoked (inhaled) cigars for many years. Switched over to vaping. Been kurking and reading volumes, now I am ready to jump in and some questions.

Keeping this one short, will post more later, need to get my 5 posts in so I can post on the real Forums...

Mike

@Sikko
Give us an idea of how often you smoke what kind of cigars you smoke?
I smoked Rocky Patel "The Edge" mostly, also smoked some Fuente's. I smoked about 5-6 cigars a day, inhaling every puff. Only smoked two since picking up the vape!

@DancingHeretik
So, what have you been using so far? What kind of questions do you have? Is there anything we can help you with here?

Gosh, I guess I didnt admit to being an OCD Geek yet, did I. I started with an IGo4 (a 750ma eGo clone). Once I realized that the technology had gotten to the point that actually worked "for me", I dove into the deep end. I bought an eVic, an assortment of carto/clearos, and a AGA T2, built my first coil today. Its not much to brag about but it was my first and it works, had a heck of a time getting rid of the hot leg on top. I also have a Vamo and a SVD coming.

I am an electronics geek, and am by no means scared of any of this techno. I also am an avid fish tank enthusiast and have a lot of experience testing water, using pipettes and measuring small amounts of chemicals accurately, tested boiler water at work too so I understand titration etc. So I dove into DIY ejuice. The standard by which I compare my stuff to is Nicquid which is the best tasting juice i have bought so far. I am using flavorart flavorings and I dont even come close to the taste-bud popping Nicquid.

As for questions, what lines of flavorings have you guys/gals had the best results with?

I like the whole RBA concept, I will master the coil, its only a matter of some practice. Without going to the high end $$ custom stuff, what other RBAs should I be looking at.

What is a good "dripping" head for sampling juices? I hate having to fill tanks for to get a taste, or to sample something I have steeping.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike. Welcome aboard! :thumbs:

I primarily use cartotanks with my vaping. I also have the AGA T+; I've had mine up and running for a couple of weeks now. It's my first rebuildable.

I don't drip, never got the hang of it. To sample test flavors I use Nano clearomizers. Easy screw off caps to fill, reusable with multiple flavors:

I no longer practice the hobby, but I was also an avid fish keeper. I did salt water aquariums before the current biofilters came out, relying only on undergravel filters along with outside power filters in an attempt to balance the nitrate cycle. I even had an octopus for a while - extremely intellegent and facinating creatures they are!

Anyway, there's a lot of helpful and knowledgable people here to assist your experience into vaping.

. . . . what lines of flavorings have you guys/gals had the best results with?

Capella has a reputation for being the best one-flavor choice. They're a little expensive so I haven't tried them yet. High Desert Vapes carries Capella in small, inexpensive sample sizes. Then, once you decide which flavors you like, you can get them directly from Capellas in bulk to save money.

I've mostly used The Perfumer's Apprentice so far, which is fine too. I have a thing for their Tiramisu and Peppermint.

That definitely is over my head. I have bought a couple of RBAs, washed them out, and set them up to dry. Haven't been brave enough to try them yet.

I use mostly my old 510 atties for taste testing. What else am I going to use them for? But, when dripping for pleasure, I use a 306 or 510-t.

You're really going to love the DIY and RBA sections!

Yeah Becca, I got the Noob spend-itus syndrome. But its all good, I am off the cigars....

Also narrowing in on my "zone", hopefully the spending will slow down and I will soon realize some of the savings potential of giving up the analogues. (I say this as a I click the button to order a Cobra RBA)

But thanks, appreciate the kudos.

@DancingHeretik Thanks, I have been reading those sections avidly. There is soooooo much info there. Sorting through it all to get to the meat has been a challenge. Thats the main reason I jumped on and registered though, so I can participate in some of that stuff. I am a hacker at heart and I can see where I will apply that same passion to this new addiction. At least this one is far less likely to kill me.
