Hello all,

Been lurking the forums for about a month now soaking up a lot of info and decided to join in. I started with e cigs to quit smoking (21 days now) and haven't looked back. Any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bawse, welcome to ECF.

Tell us what you have and what you are looking for and we can help with recommendations. The more specific you can be on what you like and dislike, the better our recommendations will be.

Welcome to ECF. The best advice I can give is to have backups, and then backups for your backups. Even extra chargers. As time goes by it is easy forget how much we end up depending on our equipment to be there for us. There is more thought and maintenance involved in vaping than I thought. But it is a lot more fun than smoking too. Glad you decided to join us here.

If you are using unregulated mods and RBAs, read up on battery safety. Buy only recommended batteries with high c-ratings from reputable vendors.

If you are using rechargeable devices like eGo style batteries, always have a fully charged backup battery within reach. You don't want to get stuck with a nicotine craving and a dead battery.

Keep it simple for a while. The most important thing is that you have a satisfying vape at the ready. Growing your collection and experience will happen naturally over time. Keep browsing the threads, and once you get access to the other forums, you will be able to get a lot more valuable information.

Keep asking questions. Lots of them. Search YouTube for reviews on products before you buy anything so you can make more informed decisions.

You will make mistakes. Don't sweat it. Tastes in flavors change as do preferences in aesthetics. Get verified so you can buy, sell, and trade in the classifieds section. You will reduce losses that way over time.

Keep at it!

Hello devauto,

Thank you for warm welcome. I have a ego style twist with a boge f15 carto tank that works but is temperamental lol, and a mvp v2 with a dripping atty. Not looking for anything below the 1.5 ohms just an enjoyable vape that's very flavorful and vg based. I've found that I really like fruit flavors and some desserts. Maybe at some point in the future I'll be looking to purchase a mech or hybrid mod to round out my gear if I find a good deal. I really like the aesthetics of the all brass mods.

Welcome Bawse!

I am only a few weeks past you and have not looked back. Yes, you will still get an urge or two but puff it away! Also, keep things interesting with new juices or even cool equipment. Also, get one of these cool signature banners to remind you why you quit. The cigarette count and money saved are a real eye opener!

I like the advice of keep things interesting. You don't need a ton of money to buy a different topper/clearomizer/tank/ carto thingy. Think of it as a new toy that is roughly about the cost of a pack of cigs. Have fun, its a a great distraction.

Find one you like, click on it, and it should take you to the page that allows you to customize it for your own use. Most will even provide specific instructions on how to enable it in the forums ... it's pretty simple though, IIRC it was a copy paste thing into my signature block under my account settings ...

I did mine through the settings page BUT I just saw that you can go up top to Form-Actions-->Generate Sigbanner for an ECF one.
