Noobcake question about coils!

Hey guys :)

So I have my k1000 epipe using 18350 batteries and a nautilus mini with bvc 1.8 ohm coils currently.
No real complaints other then the quality of vape dampening after an hour or so but I realize that's just the full force of the fresh battery draining off.

What I'm wondering.. I've read up a bit on how coils work.. Like lower ohm means less wraps on the coil and it gets hotter quicker from what I got outta it.
So my question is.. With my setup what should I be vaping with? The 1.8 ohm or should I try 1.6? I'm about to throw a pack on my diy ejuice order but really don't wana waste $15 on a pack of coils if it's not my best bet.. will the 1.6 coils be better or worse on my batteries in short term.. Like will I get a Lil more life out of my vape sessions if i go with a 1.6ohm coil that heats up quicker meaning I will be holding in the button less? Or does it zap up more juice? and what kinda difference can I expect with my pretty basic mod?

If anyone can clear this up a bit for me I'd really appreciate it! I'm hoping to put my order in within the next 4 hours or so.. That way it will get shipped asap tomorrow :)

It will heat up a little quicker, but it takes a little more energy to do it. So your battery will still be the ultimate limitation. I take really quick hits on my dripper with sub ohm coils and the 18650 batteries don't last all that long either. I thought 18350 size mods were really cool looking and stealthy, but I abandoned them pretty quickly when I remembered I had no real need for a "stealthy vape".

Ok nice thanks man that is helpful I think. Thing is my mod is a pipe mod so I tend to take long to medium hits rarely do I do quick hits or even mouth hits. So would you say I should just stick with the 1.8? Hmm also I think I take longer hits mainly to get more vapor. So would 1.6 coils mean I should be able to get the same amount of vapor in my lung with a shorter hit then I take on a 1.8?

I've tried both the 1.8 and 1.6 ohm coils in the nautilus full size and mini the difference it not that noticeable. There maybe a little more vapor with the 1.6 but in my opinion it depends more on the PG/VG ratio of my juice. In fact I would have been completely happy with the 1.8's but where I bought my replacements they were out of stock and went with the 1.6's.

The nautilus mini is one of the best little tanks going right now. So you should be getting a good vape with it, as I believe you said you are. The problem is taking longer lung hits with that size battery. The difference between the two coils you mentioned is negligible. In all honesty, I don't think you'll see much of a difference in battery life or anything else in switching between those two coils. Depending on how long you have been vaping, and your vaping habits, I would bet you will outgrow that battery size pretty quickly. If I were you, I would keep that nautilus, ditch the e-pipe, and buy a regulated mod. Even a dna 30, with the coil sizes that you will use in the nautilus, will give you MORE than enough power. For awhile. Lol. Until your next vape equipment growth spurt.

Yea I hear what your saying. I do like the idea of the dripper ones and building coils looks right up my alley but the pipe is purely for public and at work vaping. The robot penis things just won't do for me in this enviroment haha but I plan on going down that path eventually :) I enjoy pipes is the thing and I actually carry around 3 18350's haha but you guys answered what I was looking for :D if I can take even just a bit shorter hauls off my button press. Even if it drains the battery a little faster its okay really (that was more wishful thinking on preserving precious battery life lol) and if I don't notice a difference then I guess no loss so I think I'll give it a go :)
Thanks again for the advice guys
