Today was bad, I smoked 11 cigs! I was down to about 7 or 8 per day. I was a pack and a half a day smoker for over 40 years, but I just can not totally quit. I have been vaping for about 2 weeks now and have cut down but why am I wanting to smoke? I envy everyone that just quit after their first vape! In the morning I need to smoke at least 4 to 5 cigs and then I am good for awhile.

Then I must have one about every 3 hours. I am trying!

It takes time. Some can just go straight to vaping without much issue, where as others may need a slower, tapering off method. Look at it as a great success how much you've cut back already! As long as they amount is slowly dropping, its still dropping.

You could try higher nicotine content (some use exclusively 36mg! never found it necessary myself) or even some whole tobacco alkaloid (WTA) liquid. Either of these may help quell cravings.

This is the only WTA vendor I know of but I'm certain there are more:

Aroma E-Juice - Whole Tobacco Alkaloid

Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET) liquids should contain some of these alkaloids too, given the extraction.

Congrats on cutting back! If you don't mind me asking, " What are you using for you're vaping device?" Also what's your juice of choice right now?

took me 3 1/2 weeks ditch the cigs.
had to up the nicotine to 24mg.
trust me, if i can do it, anyone can.
nicotine buzz is just part of it.
you might even have to move to 24mg.
after 3 weeks, wanting a cig for hand to mouth is psychological.
just allow yourself x amount of cigs a day, stick with it, and work down.

Have you tried mixing a little of the higher mg. nic with the 18mg. I did that at first, (mixed two strengths) one seemed too strong, and one too weak. But hang in there, you're doing really well.

I smoked for over 30 yrs., and thought I'd never, EVER be able to quit. You'll get there. It also really helped me to find an e-liquid I liked better than the real ones.:p

It's not a crime to smoke some cigs and vape. You sound like you are motivated and will get there eventually. It really is about how many ciggies you don't smoke not how many you do. I think you are doing great!!!

Use the 24 earlier in the day and then 18 in the afternoon, maybe. I even have some 12mg for when I am chain vaping in the evenings watching my favorite TV show Project Runway:)

I smoked a pack a day before Vaping. After starting vaping 37 days ago, i was still smoking analogs, about 5-10 per day.
I started cutting it down more and more until I just started reaching for my PV more often.

Whenever you get the cravings just grab your PV and vape it away. :)

You've only been vaping for two weeks? That's not too bad. I "Paralleled" for a while....needed to make sure "this vaping thing" would work out 1st. Besides, I had several packs and wanted to finish them. Then I decided to bite-the-bullet and not buy anymore. Just don't have any. It worked for me.

My mom, OTOH, had to have those "emergency cigs" handy...so she froze them in the freezer for storage. Just knowing they were there gave her strength and "safe feelings" while she quit. She eventually gave them away. lol.

There's no one right way to quit. Just because you hear "day 1" stories does not mean it's like that for everyone.

You may be helped by knowing that there is a withdrawal period from the tobacco. One of the posters above mentioned WTA juice too. Some use snus. Others of us "tough it out". There's 1000's of chemicals in tobacco smoke...much more than just nicotine. The bad news is for many of us there's still withdrawal even while using e-cigs. The good news is IT PASSES. I think I got past the worst of it in a couple of weeks.

Now, I've used gum and patches and lozenges before. Even got off cigs for 7 months once...but still used the gum/lozenges. They irritated my digestive system too much. E-cigs are better to me in that regard...so I'm nearing 3 years off the smoking habit.

Give your system a chance to cut down from all the other chemicals. Give yourself a break. Also, build a plan for how, and when, you will quit if you choose to. If you know what withdrawal is like, you can mitigate the effects and push through. I think there's more details in either the ECF Info pages or the health section.

Good Luck!

Keep at it.....you will get there. I smoked at least a pack a day and was vaping on and off along with it.....then after about 2 months the light just came on and I decided I didn't need them anymore. I was using a tobacco that I found was a good sub for my Marlboros lights and also butterscotch from MVB which I really like. I suggest find a tobacco that you like and a fun flavor and go for it. Maybe easing in is the way to go. Everybody is different, BUT I guarantee that it will come if you really want to quit. The old sayings that I FEEL GREAT and HAVE MORE ENERGY and everything else are really true. You will thank yourself.....but please don't beat yourself up....it will come.

Hey don't worry about it, some people don't quit on day 1, everyone is different. Me and my girl have been using ecigs for a little over a month now, and she still smokes analogs, not nearly as much anymore, but she still does. To be honest I did stop basically on day one, and it is kind of annoying now that she still smokes because it smells horrible lol...but whatever, eventually if you stick with it you will stop.
