I don't get the whole "MOD" thing, seriously what good does a mod do? Does it enhance vapor production? Does it help the liquid vape longer? Seriously please help me understand??

To put this in the reference of this particular sub forum. There is nothing having to do with vapor and flavor that a mod can do over certain eGo style batts. Flavor, vapor and throat hit - three of the main reasons other than nicotine absorption, as to why people vape - are all factors of wattage. (flavor can be affected by certain components). And esp. with the eGo Twist, Vision Spinner and other eGo style variable voltage batts, in combination with certain coils, you can get the same (useable) wattage from an eGo than you can with a mod.

What some mods (not all) can do is give you longer battery time - about the tops for a reasonable length for an eGo style is 1300mAh. Mods can go to 3000mAh+ .

Also some mods - VW types, can tell you and can adjust to whatever wattage you're vaping. With eGo's you have to 'do the math' or have a chart or.... best, imo, whatever you're vaping - go by taste and vapor

For some, there are 'electronic considerations' - certain amp limits can tend to keep you from burning out coils (that you can replace or rebuild for pennies) and there is the effect certain things have on the life of a battery as well.

Heft and bigness seems to be a factor but I've seen just as many - perhaps more - people ruining a mod by dropping it than eGo's in pockets, and that will cost you.

Cosmetics/aesthetics/"fashion"/latest greatest seem to also be a big factor for some. I prefer basic functions - vapor, flavor, ease of use, and perhaps 'stealth' and less weight than most mods.

Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder with Ego's & Mods

Mods allow the use of replaceable rechargeable batteries. Instead of replacing an entire eGo battery (about $25) when the battery is shot, a mod user only needs to replace the less expensive replaceable batteries (about $10) and not the entire device.

Mods offer more features, durability, longer battery time, and options for larger e-liquid capacity attachments than the slimmer Ego batteries. Many have a LED display to communicate important information. Regulated mods (those with VV/VW processors) also have refined protection circuitry for safer use. You could say they best fit a more serious vaper who is into vaping for the long term.

They aren't for everyone. Many people start out with an eGo starter kit and are perfectly happy to use those for years. The Ego continues to be the most used battery for vaping in the world. Mods are more popular on e-cig forums because message boards attract more hobbyists and enthusiasts.

Some good points :thumb: Esp. the proprietary vs. non-proprietary batts, but there are now eGo-sized non-proprietary models - mainly Trueman products. This is the biggest 'plus' and you'd have to add chargers and new chargers and new improved chargers as part of the cost :D

As far as volume of tanks, that simply isn't true. While the new Nautilus is 5ml, (also has an eGo sleeve, btw), the Kanger Tabac, T3, MT3 and their successors are 3ml, (and eGo diameter), while the 'big' Protank is 2.4-2.5ml as is some others the same diameter size as the protank.

The short and charge protection on Joye eGo-c upgrade batts match any in the mods and are better than most, and the " LED display to communicate important information" if you're ignorant of the factors or just can't do math - so yeah, important to some.

Mods are great toys for hobbyist and tweakers. And many need a lot of tweaking. Oh, and you can't sub-ohm vape with eGos.

Not picking a fight Badi.... just commenting on some concerns from someone who 'went Mod' and why I learned and returned to the convenience and functionality of the Joye eGo's. Clones and knockoffs are another subject. Neither eGo's or Mods are 'right' for everyone - but hopefully the OP will gain some information from the replies here.

You consider 2 - 3 ml large capacity?

I was talking larger capacity like 6 or 7 ml tanks. Sure, you can put one of these on an Ego, but it looks...silly. Different strokes for different folks.

I know there are tanks one can put together of course and a few commercial ones - I'm just talking about the main clearo type products that most people who don't have 7ml appetites :) and are in a price range for most vapers, even for those who use Mods, who may also have big egos

Yeah, but that's just cosmetics. A 510 connection is a 510 connection. I like a 5 ml tank on my eGos just fine.

I wish somebody made a 1000 mAh fatty eGo twist/spinner/VV battery that wasn't so tall. Another 5mm of diameter would solve both the cosmetics of a large tank AND make the darn thing fit my jacket and vest pocket better. That could probably make it no taller than a stock eGo and pack even more than 1000 mAh with that much extra space.

Some of the new 1300 & I just found a 1500 mah egos are fatter and no longer than the 900 mah models.

1500 mAh "twist" VV (depending on which table you read on the page..).

My eGo-C measures 118 mm, they're showing 103 mm. 1.5 cm shorter I guess is better with a larger battery capacity. Of course, where do you buy one?

A cursory search of Fasttech doesn't show any.
