Bought a Kanger EVOD at my local shop a few days ago. Everything started out fine, great vapor production an all that. Then a little later that evening, I got some serious flooding. (I have read that flooding issues are common). Well, the flooding hasn't happened much lately. Now, I get a terrible burnt taste.

I've only used the current head/coil for a few days and not frequently. 90% of the usage was on a KGo running at what I assume is 3.7v. I did put it on my SVD, got the ohm reading: 1.8 ohms. Adjusted voltage down to 3.9 and got 3 really intense vapes out of it. Put it back on the KGo, everything was fine for most of the night then started getting that nasty burn flavor.

What do I do? Try and clean the coil/wick? Get a new head/coil? Trash the EVOD and stick to the Vivi Novas? Shame, I really was impressed with the EVOD at first but now that I have had issues it makes me pretty disappointed.

If you have flooding problems then replace the flavor wicks with some boiled, undyed (white or natural color) 100% cotton yarn. This will fix any flooding issues. I did NOT need to do anything with the wick that goes through the coil.

As far cleaning the heads goes, I clean mine every 7-10 days using the method in the post linked below. It may need to be done more often if you use darker juices. Using this method and replacing just the flavor wicks with the cotton yarn, my original EVOD head lasted a bit over 3 months. technically the original head still works, it just doesn't seem to fire as well any more. So I have tossed it in my rebuild pile for now.

Thanks for the post. I'll keep it in mind.

So apparently this local shop is selling clones, I believe this to be the case at least. They didn't label it as a Kanger, just EVOD.

After careful examination between my Protank II and the EVOD, I noticed that first of all, the logo on the EVOD is different, like a large O with V and T inside of it. After that I examined the coil bodies. The Protank coil had 3 wicks and everything else seemed okay. I open up the "EVOD" coil and notice 3 things: 1) There are only 2 wicks. No problem, cut an extra wick I had to fit, whoola! 3 wicks. 2) The coil wick was twisted off-center a bit, a little realignment. 3) The coils were wound extremely close, so I spaced them out a little more evenly.

Initially, I got a little of the burnt taste. That may be psychological though. I also need to clear my palate a bit. Otherwise, it seems to be okay right now, but I will have to puff on it some more to see if what I did helped.

I don't think I need to clean the coils yet, I have only gone through maybe 1 or 2 fillings. Something else must have been the culprit.

Now I just need to try this on my CE5 to figure out why the new head does a similar thing. But CE5's suck so I might put that on the back burner.

Well when you were in there, what did the top wicks and coil look like? On the color range where were they at between all white wick and clearly visible coil and dark, black gunked up mess? It's not out of the realm of possibility that your liquid could have gunked up the coil in three days use. Every liquid is different in this respect. But if a Kanger BCC starts tasting burnt chances are you have a coil & wick that needs cleaning.

No serious issues yet. Except as I was unscrewing the Evod from my SVD I wasn't paying attention and the bottom wasn't unscrewing. Juice all over my still mostly new SVD

I think I still prefer my Mini and regular Vivi Novas. Followed by the PT2. iClear 30 is alright but dont care for the draw much.

When removing any BCC from my SVD, I always hold the whole unit upside down for that very reason...I almost made that mistake once.
