Not new to Ecigs, New to rebuildables

Hello everyone, I've been vaping for almost a year and just bought an rda. Thinking I could make some coils I went and bought some 32g Kanthal and some 3mm ekowool. I tried one with 5 wraps and my evic keeps saying atomizer short and giving me a reading of .2 ohms. I dont know what I'm doing wrong, from what I've read 2 inches of 32g should give me around 2 ohms. Any help? I've tried different atomizers, Even putting the original coil that came with the RDA back on and everything works fine.

Check to make sure your coils aren't touching the negative-positive posts, the atty deck, or the atty cap.

5 wraps of 32 will be fine with your device. You most likely have a short somewhere. What atomizer are you using?

Im using a smoketech RDA, I just tried my coil on an Ego twist and it fired but still cant get it to work on the Evic, going to check if its touching or not

It looks fine, not sure why it wouldn't fire on the Evic as I don't have one.. but if it fires on your Ego-T, it should fire w/ your Evic.

Could I get a shot from above?

From that pic, your coil is probably touching the cap of your atomizer when you put it back on.

not only its not firing but it reads .1 ohm :S sure let me take it

also make sure your positive/negative screws are down and making contact, 32g wire is really thin.

AND, don't fire it on your ego while it's reading such low ohms, unless you want to kill your ego battery.

Now that I've taken a second look at that picture, your coil would be touching your top-cap.

Try looking into "Microcoils", the Smoktech RDA's are really small, and the microcoil will work perfectly with that.

Im really confused, I have the original wick and coil that came with the RDA and as far as I can tell they are the same gauge and if I put that on it reads 2.0 ohms and works just fine :S

Even though you don't have your top cap on, when you put it on, it'll make contact and short your battery.
You need to make a really small coil in that RDA, as it has a really small deck.

You might want to look into microcoils.

Well, from the second pic(glowing) you're going to have to rebuild anyway. I can't see enough detail to see where the problem might be, but your coil extends past the deck of your atty and WILL touch the top cap if you put it on. So, try again and let us know how it goes

Pull the coil closer to the posts so the coil is not touching the cap, cut the excess wire on the other side so they won't touch the top cap. An evic can fire anything about 1.2

Is the excess wire sticking out the back of your posts touching anything?
