Not real impressed with the eGo T, in fact, yuck!

I've been vaping for about 10 months now. I clean and refil carts and have been pretty pleased. I decided to try the ego-T system to see if it really is better than what I use now. Verdict for me...no way.

I bought the 650ah kit from Vape Dudes. I have watched a bunch of videos on these before I got it to learn how to properly set it up. Well, I've now had it for about 6 hours, tried 3 different types of juice, all provided with the kit and juice that I've previously used. From the very start, with both attys they tasted fantastic for about 3 puffs, then burnt. They have plenty of liquid, after they screwed up I removed the wick and they are moist. The tanks are not leaking. I think this is just to "hit or miss". There seems to be a lot of people that get the burnt taste.

Oh well, I bought a couple of adapters, so I'll just use the batteries for my 808 carts. Only cost me $40.

Sounds to me like you've got a wicking problem.

- If your tanks aren't pre-punched, pop off the bottom cap and remove the hanging chad because it can block juice flow to the wick.
- Do not fill all the way to the top so that there's no room for at least a small air bubble.
- Make sure the tank is fully seated, there should be a noticeable click feel and sound when it's fully seated.
- Take some dry puffs without pressing the button and make sure small air bubbles float up after a drag. Those little bubbles tell you that the wick is working. Once in a while with a new tank (especially with thick juices), an air bubble can get stuck on the wick and block juice flow. You can dislodge it by rapping the cone part against the palm of your hand.

Hope this helps.

I have one ego-t LR that works awesome.

The other one is a steel joye tech ego-t stamped one, that is LR and has the same issues as what the op said, so i was glad to see some help here :D I did notice the faulty one seems to have a "U" shape with the metal bands on either side of the wick.

Personally i just filled the cart half way, then pushed it in till i heard a faint snap, and three pulls later i had the burnt taste, but tapping it in my hand seems to work....so thank you :D saves me trying to turn it into a drip atty (i am sure i can do that)....though i am not sure if mine is pre punched or not, and do not know how to check...

I think mine is for the skipping stone pile :( only way i can get about five or six decent pulls on it, is if i lay it on it's side....it is like the juice needs to run into the "U" shape in order to work...very odd. oh well. the bright side for me is at least i have the other one that works

Pre-punched refers to the hole where the atty spike goes through the bottom cap of the tank. Some new tanks come with that hole already pre-punched but on others you have to seat the tank in the cone so that the atty spike makes the hole, which leaves a hanging chad that can block the flow of juice to the wick.

One other thing that can cause dry hits is the wick not being correctly positioned in the spike. Vicki from Cignot has a short (3 min) video with an excellent demonstration of what to look for and how to easily adjust the wick position. My experience with LR attys is that they sometimes need the wick to be very slightly pushed down into the spike (say about 1/32 to 1/16 inch) with the tip of a toothpick or similar tool.

After filling a new eGo-T you should have left it for a while to wet the atty properly - it takes a bit of time to wick on a brand new one. Then before pushing the botton to fire up, a few hard cold pulls until you can taste the flavor (not juice in your mouth) - then you can vape. There are YouTube videos on how to do it. Good luck :).

My first pv was an ego-t and I thought it was awesome. Then I got some boge carts to try them out, needless to say I am never going back. I had myne wicking well but it was not suited to my style. The draw was too tight, wicking issues, leaking, and for the price of one atty I could get 2 packs of boges. Now I have a LT with a tank and couldn't be happier. I hope you get your flow, don't get me wrong it is a great setup if that is your vaping style just not for me.

Thank you both for the information :D But i think i found what my personal ego-t problem is:
View attachment 95559 The one on the left is the steel Ego-t LR that does not want to function, and seems the wick (or is it the housing) is by far larger (or not crimped or cut right) when compared to the ego-t LR on the right (the one on the right has never given me a days problem)

I would not have looked for this unless i was told about the video or how to get a brand new ego-t working. So it looks like i either have to crimp the one on the left....or i guess like i said use it as something for dripping as it would be a great atty to now use for quick tasting of e-juice i never had and am unsure of. I am thinking that the atty burns off the e-juice so fast that once i get that dry hit then there is no worry of one flavor mixing with another.

when i am wrong i am wrong, and i thank you for the advice. earlier today i decided to remove the hanging chad which i thought i pushed far enough to one side with my utility knife, then once my 650mah battery died, i swapped my first (black) ego-t to the 900mah ego-t branded battery, and had flavor i never got before with the ego-t atty and attery.

Long story short, not thinking i put a tank that i currently had in use into the silver ego-t atty, put it on a battery, and started to vape, and i had flavor! when i realized what i had done wrong i tried a few more vape's, and it is still working strong.

So i want to thank you very much for the tip! the only heart ache i have now, is i have a drip tip for either one of the ego-t's but seeing as the carts wort with them i have to save the idea of dripping with them until one of them no longer works LOL

I'm pleased with how well the batteries work, got the adapter and use them with my 808 carts. I bought some blank e-go carts and the problem is the thread tightness is pretty hit or miss, about half just fall out of the battery when tightened. I'm sure I'll get a regular atomizer and drip tip to use since I'm now making my own juice and carts are a pain to flavor test with.

I have been using the egoT for a long time....All the tips here are very accurate. The cignot vid that a previous poster mentioned on how to adjust the height of the wick is very useful. I find that the egot doesn't work very well with thick juices but that is my experience with any tank system. Another advice for people that want to try the EgoT is to try the EgoC instead. Most egoC atties don't need any type of adjustment for them to work properly while most egot atties need the height of the wick to be adjusted.

Good to hear. You could also just get a few Vision Stardusts to use on your eGo batteries. They really work very well and look great on the eGo battery. No mess, no leaking, no dry hits and much, much less fiddle factor! Fill and go. The end. Lol.
